Description
There is no quick default that can be done on Zebra Mobile Printers due to their dependence on files
stored in the printer's memory. Instead, a set of parameters can be reset by applying the appropriate
command sequence.
Applies To
All Zebra Mobile Printers Excluding ZQ110, EM220, EM220II
Requirements
Requires ability to send files/commands to the printer as well as communication with the printer via
USB, Serial, Wireless, or Bluetooth.
Overview
There isn't a single key sequence or command that restores the mobile printers parameters to
their factory default configuration.
There are however, groupings of parameters that can be defaulted by sending commands to the
printer. These groupings include wlan, ip, bluetooth, display and power.
Procedure
Below are the command sequences that can be applied to default the parameters referenced above:
Examples:
! U1 do "device.restore_defaults" "bluetooth"
! U1 do "device.restore_defaults" "ip"
! U1 do "device.restore_defaults" "wlan"
! U1 do "device.restore_defaults" "power"
! U1 do "device.restore_defaults" "display"
The zpl parameters can be restored to their factory defaults on the P4T series, RW series and
QLPlus series by deleting the ZPL_CFG.CFG file. This binary file contains the zpl settings and will
be recreated automatically when restarting the printer. The newly created file will contain the binary
equivelant of the factory zpl default settings.
The ZQ500, QLn series and the iMZ allows the ^JUF and ^JUN command to be sent to restore
parameters to their factory default condition.
Example: ^XA^JUF^XZ^XA^JUN^XZ^XA^JUS^XZ
Please note that the iMZ uses line print mode by default. The command ! U1 setvar
"device.languages" command may need to be adjusted to se the iMZ back to ZPL if necessary.
! U1 setvar "device.languages" "zpl"

Sending a file to a Zebra Printer using the ZebraDesigner Driver "Send File" Feature

Applies To
ZebraDesigner Driver

Requirements
Current Version of the ZebraDesigner Driver
An installed Zebra printer

Overview
There is an option within the ZebraDesigner driver to send a file to a Zebra printer. This allows you
to send different types of files to your Zebra printer without having to install additional software or
utilities.

This feature has existed for several versions of the ZebraDesigner Driver but the most current
version, available for download from www.zebra.com is recommended.

Procedure
1. Access the driver using Devices and Printers (or Printers and Faxes for older operating systems).

2. Right click the ZebraDesigner printer driver installed for your printer and select Printing
preferences.
3. Now select the Tools tab

Note: The same option is also available for CPCL and EPL ZebraDesigner drivers.
4. Under the Command type: make sure Action is selected and the Send file option is then available.
5. You could enter the full path and file name in the box or click on the browser option and
point to the location and name of the file you want to send. Common files to send are Firmware
files, Printer language (ZPL) files, Font files (with size and memory location already generated)
etc...
6. Once the correct file name and path are entered, click Send. If your printer model has a data light
and front panel display, you will see an indication that the file was received. With larger files the
data light will continue to flash until the file is complete.
