Flooding in Our Capital City

Our topic today is flood in our capital city and why it is a big problem.
Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia. It is a big city that has many buildings
which make flood easily happens. Flooding is one of natural disasters in
Indonesia but it can be a serious disaster.
The first reason why flood in our capital city is a big problem is the amount
of rubbish that is thrown anywhere has caused flood. There are many citizens
who like throwing away the rubbish in the street, rivers, or we can say the
rubbish is in every corner of our capital city. The river flow is blocked by piles of
rubbish. The water cannot flow well in the channels and the flood happens. The
people dont care about cleanliness. So, it makes our capital city looks a dirty
city. It is a dark side of our capital city.
The second reason is illegal house. Many people from central, east java or
some province moves to Jakarta just looking for a job. They also bring their
family and even do not have house for their living. So they make an illegal house
in the side of river in Jakarta and it makes more flooding in our capital city.
The third reason is less open land in Jakarta to absorb the water. It
happens because more houses and buildings have been built everywhere in our
capital city. As you know, much water should be flown into the rivers without
absorption and the rivers cannot accommodate the water at a short time. Then,
a flood in our capital city happens.
