wicked adjective

In the past someone who was described as being


wicked was a very bad person.

The word wicked was used to describe evil people.

Today however, we would normally use other words to


describe someone who was very bad, including:
i) evil
ii) perverse
iii) immoral
iv) depraved, or
v) vile

In addition, people now often use the word 'wicked' to


describe something they think is good.

This is especially true for younger people.

For example, you will commonly hear the word wicked


used to describe something (or someone) that is:
i. wonderful
ii. great
iii. mischievous, or
iv. naughty.

In the Bible the word wicked continues to mean a


very bad person.
It is someone who does not love God & who does not
love the things that God loves.

A wicked person is a person who loves to disobey God.

Example 1
Indian businessman, Mr Biju Dominic, says that
corruption in India has many facesfrom black
money, to bribes, to scams, to crony capitalism.

He says that there is hardly an individual citizen in India that


can say that they have not been affected by corruption. He
says corruption is a wicked problem.

Example 2
The crowd watched in amazement as the
professional skate boarder did some incredible tricks
to win the world championship.

The other skateboarders congratulated him by saying,


That was so wicked man!

If something doesn't pay, there is no benefit to


you if you do it.

When you do it, you will not succeed.

When you do it, you will fail.

It will hurt you.


It is not worth doing.

Example 1
Economics advisor, Mr David Potts, says that paying
off your University HECS debt early- just doesnt pay.

Instead, he recommends you invest your money & use


some of the interest you earn to slowly pay off your debt.

Example 2
Rideshare magazine says that working as an UBER
driver in the United States - just doesnt pay.

He says that a 10 minute trip will normally cost the passenger


about $9.40. UBER currently takes a 40% commission, leaving
only $5.40 for the driver.

In addition, the driver has to supply their own car, petrol, & take
out extra car insurance!

dark side.

moment you make yourself more my servant.

Luke: No!

Emperor: It is unavoidableIt is your destiny.
