No but yes, you cant put in a Jio SIM in your 3G/2G smartphone and expect to connect
to Jios Network. Why? Because unlike other telecoms, Jio is a 4G only network, which
means it is only capable of connecting to a 4G network, not any other.

Not possible at all.
To talk to a 4G network your device requires to have different hardware. I dont know if the
tricks or methods people posting here have any legitimacy. But see this question on
stackoverflow & figure out by yourself what is truth & what is not.
What stops a 3G enabled device to access a 4G network?
Ok. Now tackling those who say it is possible, either Reliance provides a 3G network as
well but havent disclosed it (which I doubt very much, because revealing it will only
broaden their audience) or your phone has a hidden 4G network(lol).
Your device needs a hardware module to sense 4G network.
No folks, do whatever changes you want to make to your software(even Kernel) you cant
use the functionality of an Unavailable Hardware.

You can use this trick that is mentioned below to make the 4G SIM card from Jio to work
on your 3G phone. However, remember that you can use only 3G service and this would be
considerably faster than the ones provided by the other service providers.

Ordinarily, you can't use jio 4G VoLTE sim in 3G phone. There are many tutorials on
YouTube and Articles on Google are present, which are as surely telling, You can use Jio
4G sim in 3G phone. But practically it is not possible ! Because 4G phone uses different
frequency than 3G phone. You can check it in Setting > Mobile network > Preferred
network. There you will only found network circles of 2G or 3G network. You will think
then, what about video tutorials ? There may be used 4G devices. because, You can find 4G
preferred network only in 4G LTE phone. And Hardware of device also matters. Check out

You can try this perhaps it may work,
Follow the below steps to access Reliance Jios 4G services on a 3G smartphone.
1) In the initial step, you need to make sure that your smartphone is powered by a
MediaTek chipset as this procedure works only with MediaTek SoC devices.
2) After ensuring about your smartphone, you have to now download an application called
MTK Engineering Mode from Google Play Store on your MediaTek powered chipset
device.
3) The application basically resolves the problem of digging into your smartphones
network mode by keeping all of them at a glance and that mode is known as Service Mode
4) After downloading the application, just open it and you can see an option called
Preferred Network Location, which allows you to change the network mode in your
smartphone.
5) All you need to do is, select the option and choose 4G LTE option as the default one and
the application locks your network mode.
6) Restart your smartphone now and after it boots, you can see that youll be able to access
Reliance Jio services on a 3G enabled smartphone. Also, it is worth noticing that your

You can't use 4G Sim in 3G Device.
However if you want to use Volte service on your non LTE/VOLTE phone then you can
buy JIOs MIFI Router for Rs = 1999/. Using this MIFI router you can use Volte services
on your 3G (non LTE) enabled phone. All you have to do is insert your Jio Sim in MIFI
router , Install JIO JOIN app in your 3G phone . Connect your phone to MIFI router via
WIFI . Now open the Jio Join App it will ask for the MSISDN number of the SIM card
which you have inserted in the MIFI Router , Enter the MSISDN (10 Digit Mobile number
like 70210*****) and it will get connected to the MIFI router and you can use the VOLTE
services on your 3G enable phone.

Short Answer: No.
Well, Jio is Indias first ever VoLTE Network. LTE means 4g. VoLTE means Voice over
LTE or calling over the 4g network. So basically all calls are made using the 4g network.
Without the 4g network, A Jio sim is dead.
(So probably you should check where you can take your Jio sim into, because in rural areas
it will not work)
Coming to the advantages of a VoLTE over the 2g and 3g.
While dialling calls on 2g / 3g, you need to wait 45 secs before the call starts ringing on
the opposite party.
On 4g, there is basically zero waiting time. I have noticed this and this is a huge change you
would see. When calling someone, as soon as I press the dial button, it starts ringing
instantly or in under 1 second.
Call quality is improved in 4g, and most importantly, the 4g spectrum can penetrate deep
where 2g and 3g network cant reach. So, you can get good network even in a bounded area
where other networks arent available. (Tested on Kolkata Underground Metro)

Officially you cannot use Jio sim in 3G phone because Jio is not like other service provider
because Jio has only 4G support but there are lot of tricks on Internet that claims they can
use Jio sim in 3G phone.

4g phones.

No, it's not possible. Jio is 4G network so you require 4G enabled phone.
Alternatively you can buy JioFi device cost Rs 1999 and from that you can access all 4G

This method is different from the other method which requires to go through
Engineering mode, or have to download the software to go in engineering
mode.This is the new method available on trickweek and the simplest method by which
you can use Jio 4G sim in any 3G phone.
From this method we can use Jio 4G in 3G sim without going into
engineering mode or downloading any external apps to go into engineering
mode.
This is working in any 3G android device whether it has Snapdragon Chipset, Or mediatek.
This works on both Rooted and Nonrooted phones.
Here is the step by step guide.
1. First download these apps from the Google playstore

SearchSwitcher
Xorware 2G/3G/4G for questions,
& people, and topics Sign In
Xorware 2G/3G/4G Interface Pro
2. After downloading, install both the app. Now Open the second one i.e Xorware
2G/3G/4G Interface Pro.
3. Now there is a option 2G Network Mode. It is selected 2G (GSM/UMTS) as default.

Change it to 4G LTE.

1. Sabse pahle aap, CPU-Z app play store se download kare.!CPU-Z
2. Iske baad CPU-Z install ho jane ke baad usse open kare. !
3. Agar aapka Device mediatak hai to, CPU-Z app main aapko iska logo dikhayi dega.
4. Ab aap Play store se, MTK engineer mode app download kare. Yah app aapke 3g device
ko 4g sim use karne ke liye upyogi bana dega.MTK engineer mode
5. Ab aap MTK engineer mode application ko open kare.
6. Ab aap MTK setting main jaye or Network selecting par click kare. Preferred network
option par click kare.
7. 4G LTE/WCDMA/GSM network Ko choose kare or save par click kare. Ab aap phone ko
switch of kare Reliance jio ki sim lagaaye, switch off open kare. Ab aap reliance jio ki sim
3g smartphone main use kar paayenge.

download karna hoga. ! Jo aap play store se niche diye diye huye link par click karke kar
sakte hai.

iss trick ke through reliance jio 4g ka use 3G device main kar sakte hai. Agar aapka device
media tak chipset nahi hai. To aap iss method ka use kar sakte jisse aap 3g enable device
main 4g jio sim use kar paaynge.

2. shortcut master app open kare, ab aapko right side top par teen dots dikh rahi hongi

system app select karke search kare.!
5. Aapko khafi prkar ke engineering mode dikh sakte hai. Aapko

Factorymode.simcard_test_activity par click karna hai.
6. Ab aapko khulne wale popup main Network mode ko select karna hai.
7. Iske baad aap Network mode main Lte/gsm auto(PRL) ko chunna hai.
8. Ab aap apne device ko switch off karke usme jio 4G sim ko 1st slot main laga kar, apne
phone ka switch off khole. Switch off kholne ke baad aapko Network show hone lagega. !
agar aapke device main abhi bhi Network show nahi ho rha hai. To aap isko kaise thik
kare !
1. apne phone main *#2263# dial kare.
2. Iske baad key input main jaye or 000 ko lagaye. !
3. Kuch samay baad pop box khulega and UL setting main jaye or protocol ko select
kare. !
4. Protocol main Nas ko select karke Network Control par click kare.!
5. Network control main aapko band selection par click kare.
6. Isme aap LTE band par click kare and LTE band main Band 40 par click kare.
7. Aap apne device ko switch off karke sim ko slot 1 main dalkar, phone ka switch open
kare aapko kuch samay main Network show hone lagege.

First activate jio sim by puting it in 4g phone and then put that activated sim in 3g phone
thet support LTE or u can do thes tricks

At first Download & Install Shortcut Master Lite App
Open the app then enter your any active mobile number and verify it by otp
Next there you will see many apps like screenshot below
Just install all apps one by one by clicking Start this offer
When you install any apps open that app atleat 1 minute (importent step)
After downloading all apps, click on menu button then, Search for Service Menu Or
Engineering Mode
Once you found the Engineering Mode then open it and Select LTE Bands and hit
save Search for questions, people, and topics Sign In
Now reboot your device, then inser jio sim and check network comes or not
If the above Doesnt Work Then Dial *#2263# then Select Menu And Click Back
Again Then Select Menu.
Then Go To Key Input And Enter 0000 without quotes, Then Wait For Couple Of
Seconds ,after that You Will Get Popup.
Select UE Settings From that Popup, after that Select setting > protocol > NAS >
Network Control > Band Selection > LTE Band > The Select Band 40.
After doing above settings turn off your phone and insert jio sim then swich on and
wait few minutes
Withing few minutes LTE network will comes in your phone
Thats it. Now enjoy unlimited internet with jio
To use jio sim in 3G or 2G Mobile
1. Dail this number *#2263# from your phone
2. Input 0000 and wait a moment
3. Goto settings > protocol> network control> band selection > LTE band
4. Save band 40, and reboot your phone
5. Now, Insert jio sim and enjoy jio sim in 3phone
You cant call anyone using jio nework because, Calling feature Needs voLTE and 3G
devices are not capable of this. So if you want to call using LTE network then you can do
that by using jio join app

First, download and install the MTK EngineeringInternet

For Snapdragon chipset Devices

Download Shortcut Master (Lite) App From Here

Install the app & Open It.
