I. Purpose of this Document
This document provides an overview of the ATA 2.0 Developer Case Study Exam, including exam procedures,
processes, content areas and topics to be covered. This is not intended to be a comprehensive study guide.

II. Accenture Technology Academy Certification Exams

Overview
Significant effort has been devoted to designing Accenture Technology Academy 2.0 exams that assess relevant
knowledge and skills. An industry standard model is followed for developing exams which involves a significant
effort from Accenture Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across several geographies, MIT faculty members,
psychometricians and certification specialists from Accenture Learning. Accenture SMEs across the Global
Delivery Network have been the primary contributors to the design and build of the certification exams. MIT
faculty have participated in the question review and selection for every exam in the program and each exam has
been formally approved by the MIT Professional Education Program team.

To learn more about the exam development process, please refer to the Program Guide, accessible via:

IV. Exam Format

Exams are delivered online (accessed through myCertification), in a proctor-supervised, secure setting. These
exams are delivered at kiosks in India, China, and the Philippines. Refer to the exam session details in
myCertification for session locations.

Case Study Scenarios are provided at the beginning of each exam chapter.
Multiple choice questions follow and relate back to the chapter case study scenarios.
There are 50 total scored multiple choice questions on the exam.
The Case Study scenarios and applicable multiple choice questions are delivered one per screen.
Multiple choice questions are based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities expected for a candidate.
Once you have completed a chapter, you cannot return to it.
You will have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

V. Exam Scoring
Results will be communicated as a pass or fail outcome; exact scores will not be communicated. Individuals
who pass the exam will receive credit toward the ATA 2.0 certification program requirements. Individuals who
do not pass the exam on their first attempt will be allowed to take the exam a second time following a waiting
period of 72 hours from the first attempt. Exact scores will not be communicated. There is no appeal process for
certification exam results; the result (pass/fail) is final.

Participants are given two attempts to pass the exam. If participants do not pass the exam on the
second attempt they are cancelled out of the certification program and are not allowed to re-register
in the certification program. Exam results are available in myCertification three business days after each
attempt. Participants are given two hours to complete the exam. Exam results are not shared with career
counselors or supervisors nor does performance on the exam affect performance ratings.

VII. Sample Questions

Each chapter of the exam will begin with a Case Study Scenario. Case study scenarios are designed to depict
realistic business situations in which problems need to be solved. The exam questions associated with each
chapter relate back to the Case Study Scenario provided.

Examples of multiple choice questions that appear below relate to a Chapter Scenario for the ATA 2.0 Developer
Case Study. Correct answers highlighted in green:

1. One of the Lead Government representatives is a member of the Department of Security and Defense
(DSD) and is concerned about the threat of hackers gaining access to citizens personal data. The head
of the DSD tasks this representative with ensuring that the technical solutions address these security
concerns.

Which Accenture Delivery Methodology (ADM) deliverable addresses the DSDs Security Concerns?

a. SP042 Solution Scope Definition

b. SP044 Current Capability Assessment
c. SP046 Solution Blueprint
d. SP050 Solution Plan

2. A Developer reviews the current list of open defects. In one instance, the Developer researches and
determines that a defect has no impact on the current requirements, and can be addressed in a future
release.

What status should the Developer assign to this defect?

a. Deferred
b. Open
c. Rejected
d. Closed

3. The Design Team encounters significant difficulty in clearly specifying and documenting the functionality
of some of the more complex logic when creating the RICEFW Functional Design.

Which best practice should the team use to address the challenges in documenting complex
functionalities?

Page 40
a. perform a formal Design-to-Build hand-off meeting
b. break down the problem into manageable pieces
c. use table indexes to retrieve data from the database
d. involve Developers when creating the deliverable

VIII. Exam Policies and Security Guidelines

Certification exams are a key component of a certification program. Some exams are delivered and proctored at
an Accenture training facility or by kiosk.

NOTE: The following points apply to proctored exams delivered at an Accenture training facility:

1. Participants who fail to show up for a scheduled exam at an Accenture training facility are recorded as a
no show. No show status is treated as an exam failure. Two exam failures result in the candidate being
removed from the program.
2. When taking a scheduled exam at an Accenture training facility, arrive prior to the start time. Participants
not starting the exam within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time are treated as no-show and are not
permitted to take the exam that day.
3. Participants wishing to cancel themselves out of an exam session must do so a minimum of three days
(72 hours) prior to the start of the scheduled session. Note: myCertification does not permit a candidate
to cancel an exam session less than 72 hours of the scheduled start time.
4. Participants with legitimate reasons for not being able to appear for a scheduled exam session within the
72 hour window may contact their local training organization to request assistance in rescheduling their
session.

NOTE: The following points apply to exams sessions delivered at a kiosk:

1. Participants who fail to show up for a scheduled exam at a kiosk are recorded as a no show. No show
status is treated as an exam failure. Two exam failures result in the candidate being removed from the
program.
2. When taking a scheduled exam at a kiosk, arrive prior to the start time. Participants not starting the exam
within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time are treated as no-show and are not permitted to take the
exam that day.
3. Kiosk Late/No-Show Policy: Candidates who are late or do not show up for their exam are billed 100%
of the exam fee. The fee is non-refundable, and your exam sponsor is notified that the appointment is
billed as a no-show.
4. Kiosk Cancellation and Refund Policy: Participants wishing to cancel out of an exam session delivered
via kiosk must contact Innovative Exams a minimum of one day (24 hours) in advance. A refund is
provided only when you cancel or reschedule the exam prior to 24 hours of the original appointment.
