The frogs attach their eggs to the sides of the pitcher, and the tadpoles grow in the watery
liquid inside the plant. The species is an obligate of the pitcher plant,
Nepenthes ampullaria which breeds in senescent or mature pitchers. They remain around
the pitchers clump, and adult males are heard calling at dusk, choruses peaking during the
early hours of the evening (ca. 18452100 h) within and around patches of pitcher plants
