5 Conclusion and Recommendation

As conclusion, site visit of geology was given a lot useful inputs practicality for all
student. From the theory we have, the site visit of geology are deep more knowledge in identify
rock kinds such as igneous rock, sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock practicality it.

Therefore, we can know rock type based on the locations visited such as in Pulau Mawar,
Mersing, we see igneous rock. In addition, we know generally about the structure of rock there
we visited us. We can identify about joint and folds with a lot more closely. From this site visit,
we also learn more experts about strike and dip direction.

Apart from we can increase knowledge, this visit can show positive attitude as
responsibility of equipment such as the compass, the safety helmet and etc. Such attitude
cooperation among member of the team is very important. Although our group forced to task in
very hot on current pay day frozen oil. From the result that we gain, the stability of mode of joint
was safe.

RECOMMENDATION

There are engineering techniques to make the slope more stable. Among them are:

Steep slopes can be covered or sprayed with concrete covered with a wire mesh to
prevent rock falls.

Retaining walls could be built to stabilize a slope.

If the slope is made of highly fractured rock, rock bolts may be emplaced to hold the
slope together and prevent failure.

Drainage pipes could be inserted into the slope to more easily allow water to get out and
avoid increases in fluid pressure, the possibility of liquefaction, or increased weight due
to the addition of water.

Oversteepened slopes could be graded or terraced to reduce the slope to the natural angle
of repose.
 In mountain valleys subject to mudflows, plans could be made to rapidly lower levels of
water in human-made reservoirs to catch and trap the mudflows.

Finally, other recommendation for this trip is:

This trip is quite short time. Therefore, we hope the next site visits of geology are getting
lengthening our trip time.
Make briefing with any further so students know direction real aim and students
can give picture of location directed. With briefing, decide him students get ready with
theory study.
Division of our grouping must do before go out the site visit. In case, our team members
are get ready with visit done.
Before distribute equipment, management necessary must to recorded lists of equipment
while student borrowed. Otherwise losses of equipment are happened.
Shortage of lecturer to control our students quantity.
For next trip, we hope University should provide all the financially problem.
