1. Introduction
The current prison management system is manual process. There are hundreds of criminals in
each prison.The prisoners records are stored in register and manual files. Such data
management often causes human errors, delay in retrival of information etc. To such problems
we have proposed to develop a computerized prison management system which will store the
information and records efficiently and more secure way.

2. Objectives
To replace the manual prison management system with well managed computerize system.
To make the whole prison management system more efficient and user friendly.
To keep the prisoners records secure and long term purpose.
To enables quick access of necessary details

3. Problem Description
In the current system the personal details of each prisoner, case details which are registered
against the each prisoner and parole details are store in hand written format in manual files and
register. It is very time consuming and expensive process. It requires huge human resources, lot
of document work, information retrieval is very slow, no data security, unreliability,chances of
human errors and redundancy problem.

4. Methodology
To make the proper management of data we will make database at the back end which will store
the data efficiently and in organized form.
To Ensure the data security the system will provide user authentication process. Which allow
only the authenticated user to access data.
To Speed up the information retrieval process we will use different search algorithms.

5. Project Scope
The basic Features of prison management system will be:
Nominal Role: This module contain the personal details of all the prisoners in the
prison like his/ her name, age, date of birth, address and digital photograph etc.
Case Register: This module include all the cases detail register against the prisoners.
Parole Register: This module will provide information about the prisoners who are on
parole.
Visitors Details: It will provide the details of all the visitors who visit the prison like
visitors name, address, relation, purpose of visit etc.
Staff Details: It will track the detail staff members who are working in the prison for
example: staff name, age,address,date of joining, designation etc.

 Training: This module contain information about the training given to the prisoners
during the imprisonment.
Release Diary Generator: This module will provide information about the prisoners
who are going be release on next seven days.
Report Generation: This module will generate report about the detail of the prisoners.
We can also take print of this report.

Printer for printing purpose

7. Solution Application Areas

Initially we will try to implement this system in different prisons of KPK.
By Implementing this system the prions will get rid of manual work.
Prison Management System will help the prison staff members in generating reports.
This System will not require any additional resources.

8. Tools/Technology
The tools and technology that we use for the successful accomplishment of the project which
are as follows:
Microsoft Visual Studio
Microsoft C# .Net language
Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server 2008

9. Expertise of the Team Members

All the members have knowledge and well experience in the tools and technology which will
use for the successful acomplishment of the project.
