Very short activity designed to help students activate their
language, just like stretching before exercise or tuning an
instrument before a performance. The goal is to have students
begin class ready to practice and actively participate.
On screen directions: Complete the sentences with your own
words

Discussion: In class discussion,
In which sentences does the action start and end in the past? no material
Which sentences have an action that starts in the past and (working on

Lecture:
Introducing: Present Perfect Unit 5: Page 56
1.Present Perfect is used to talk about an action that began in the
past and comes up now
2. This introduction will help students understand that the subject
comes first.
Affirmative: Subject + Have / Has + Past Participle
Negative: Subject + Haven't / Hasn't +
Past Participle Question:
Have / Has + Subject + Past Participle Pair Activity
3.Sentences are written down on the board, and at random,
students names are called upon request. For example:
Jimena, have you ever been to the world of Harry Potter?
(You would want to write their responses on the board)
When did you go to the world of Harry Potter?
4. All sentences will be randomized for flexibility and once
students are called and finished with their speaking responses

OR

To refresh their minds on using verbs, students can play the game
of Food Glorious Food. This board game is excellent when
reviewing how to use verbs when it comes to ordering your food
at a restaurant and/or saying the kind of food the student likes.
Students will be paired up in teams of 3 and will take turns rolling
a dice and answer the following board game questions when its
their turn to play.

Wrap-up/Feedback:
Solicit answers from students, refer to warm-up sentences if
needed
