TEACHING PHILOSOPHY OUTLINE

The following briefly outlines my beliefs about teaching philosophy on early

childhood education. These teaching ideas will be used in my classroom.

Role of the Teacher

The teacher should facilitate and encourage all the students to engage
in the class.
The teacher should have creative ways to provide children different
learning experience.
The teacher should provide clear guidance to students and set positive
modeling for students.

Role of the Student

Students should be active learners in the class.
Students should have a feeling of ownership in the classroom to lead
them to respect each other.
Students need to use hand-on activities to help them explore
spontaneously and creatively.

Equality for All Learners

The teacher should meet each students individual need.
Each students learning ability and style should be considered in the
curriculum.
Each students voices should be respected in the classroom.

Loving and Caring Nature

The teacher should create an inviting environment where parents and
students feel comfortable.
The teacher should build a good and close relationships with students
and their families, helping them to understand all students better.
Both teacher and students need to use calm voices and behavior in the
classroom and they need to respect each other.

Classroom Management/Structure
The teacher should provide an open, welcome, safe and comfortable
environment for students.
The teacher should set the clear routines to help students to follow the
directions and procedures.
The teacher should use conversation to solve the conflicts to help
students develop their problem-solving skills.

Professional Goals
I hope to continue to reflect my teaching style and improve my
teaching from learning through other educator, through my reflecting
journals, through my students.
I hope to integrate good ideas and new strategies together to my
teaching and revise some ways to meet individual needs.
I hope to create a creative and positive learning environment for my
students.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY NARRATIVE

I believe students are creative, curious, and competent. Children can
succeed if a teacher plays appropriate roles in appropriate learning
environment for them. The teacher must take many roles in the learning
environment. In the early childhood setting, the teacher needs to be the
students helper, role model, facilitator and mentor. A teacher must be
consistent, flexible, patient and creative. A teacher should give love to
all the students and have passion on their education; a teacher should
understand his or her students in the class and take care of all the students
in the class. A teacher should build trust and security in the relationships
with her students, and the teacher should be an active role model in the
class. A teacher should prepare the curriculum and learning environment to
trigger interests to all the children in order to meet all the students needs. A
teacher should encourage all the students to participate in the class to give
students different learning experience from different trials. A teacher should
use their imagination to create some fun activities to help students
participating in the learning.

In order for a student to succeed in the classroom, a teacher should provide

them some learning tools to help them explore something. Different children
have different learning styles, so a teacher needs to create different kinds of
learning environments to meet each students needs. The learning tools can
support the students to explore by themselves, and all the students should
have equal opportunities to do the explorations. Students are not only should
learn from the teacher, but also should learn from some group works.
Students should have enough space for their own learning to integrate in-
class learning and out-of-class learning. Assessment should be focused on
students level of development, not their test score.

Different students have different abilities and approaches to learning

different subjects, so teacher should provide an open, diverse, welcome and
comfortable environment for them. It is important to all students to feel that
they are a part of the classroom. In order to make students feel welcome and
engaged in the class, a teacher should provide the lessons that should meet
all the students needs. The suitable lessons and activities should provide
students more learning opportunities in the school and to feel confident in
their learning process. Students should be successful if they learn the
appropriate lessons. It is important that all the students should be treated
equally in the class, and the classroom environment should be positive and
welcome to the students. All children are active and efficient learners if they
are in a positive and welcoming environment. All children should be provided
equal opportunities in their learning process in the class, so children should
be confident in their future learning. Students and teacher should create a
happy and comfortable learning environment together for a better learning
experience.

I learn some education ideas from different educators, mentors and some
field experiences, and I want to do some further learning to become a better
educator. I hope to continue to reflect my teaching style and improve my
teaching from learning through other educator, through my reflecting
journals, through my students. I hope to integrate good ideas and new
strategies together to my teaching and revise some ways to meet individual
needs. I hope to create a creative and positive learning environment for my
students. I am passionate to teach young children and I hope to use my
ideas to help children to have better learning experience.
