Title Sequence - Film Deconstruction: Fury (2014)

Director: David Ayer

This shows the main title as flames

cross inside the letters which is also
accompanied by the loud eery
music to create the effect of
suspense and excitement.

This shot is effective as it shows

soldiers running away. The red
colour scheme connotes danger
and blood which shows that the film
will be gritty and violent.

This shot is effective as it shows a

tank rolling across the screen
creating the impression of danger
especially with the red colour
scheme which is used throughout
the whole title sequence.

This shot is effective as the titles

start to become a old tape showing
the horrors of the war. The music in
the background is also eery and
dark to create a gloomy
atmosphere to show that the war
was a horrible event.
This shot shows an army patrol car
that was used in the world war
which is still shown in the red and
black colour scheme to connote
blood and death. The music also
changes from the eeriness to Nazi
chanting to create a sense of
realism and fear.

This shot shows another tank to

show that this film is about a group
of soldiers who operate a tank. The
titles now shift to showing actors
names.
This shot is effective as it uses a
style of editing to overlap two
pieces of video for example it has a
shot of people walking down a road
with army vehicles and then Hitler
is overlapped to show that this is
set in World War 2.

This shot shows the brutality of the

world war as it shows off the
weaponry used still in a tape reel
style. It also keeps the red colour
scheme and the music is also at full
tempo.

Overall i chose the film fury as it uses a wide range of

camera shots and angles and uses a distinct red colour
scheme over the top of the titles which adds to the war
atmosphere. In my title production i will look to use the
same colour of red in the titles and also use war footage to
convey to the audience that this is a war film.
