Lesson Plan
Lesson Experience
Activity 1
Give students a sheet of paper each.
Explain that they are to draw a door in the
middle of their page. Around the door they
are to draw pictures of things which set the
scene e.g. who was with them, what the
weather was like, what day it was, what they
were wearing
Activity 2
As a class devise a creative writing piece
using modelled writing.
I was walking through the forest on a
(weather), with (who was there). I had my
(what you were wearing) when I came across
a door. Inside was the most wonderful thing I
had ever seen. There were hundreds of
beautiful butterflies flying
Students use their plan to develop a creative
piece of writing. Whereby they write a story
about who was with them, what they were
wearing and what was inside the door that
they opened.
Lesson Closure:
Ask students to return to the floor with their
writing book and select a partner. They can
then tell the person next to them about the
wonderful door.
