47 This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness,problems,and solutions


48for visual learning as an aid for teaching devices specially from Senior High School
49Students of Pamantasan Ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela. In this study,ambush interview and
50descriptive research design were used,where in the researchers made a detail study
51about thye effectiveness of Power Point to the students. The words are used as a data
52for analysis.Convenient sampling was used due to the availability of the respondent to
53participate on the study. And the answers from the interview would be the data that the
54researchers were going to undergo analysis to come up in one conclusion.

55 Ten (10) students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela that are from
56different strands that is exposed from PowerPoint Presentation inside their class. The
57findings shows that the Technological Design is one of the thing that students remember
58and understands the lesson and that would be the reason why Powerpoint Presentation
59is Effective because they are seeing visual images. This study actually focuses on three
60areas (1) Effectiveness of PowerPoint Presentation for visual learning, (2) problems that
61have been encountered when using PowerPoint Presentation and (3) the suggestions
62that can be a possible solution for the problems encountered. Seven out of ten students
63said that they still remember the past lesson that is presented on the PowerPoint
64presentation because of its design and the teaching style, while the three said that they
65dont remember the lesson that is presented because many teachers used PowerPoint
66Presentation thats why it is hard for them to recall on what is the exact lesson is being
67discussed. And lastly, they said that the PowerPoint Presentation must be match with
68the teaching style.

81 Technology nowadays is vast that people depend on it, because it makes our lives
82easier. Even in education it is implemented through teaching as an aid. We use
83technology in our assignments, studies etc. But the question is how technology affects
84on the teaching styles of teacher. According from cantechletter.com (2014),The word
85technology is a combination of two Greek words, techne and logos. Techne means art,
86craft, or skill. Logos means to speak of. Some have since taken the word logos to
87imply the practical application of techne, but others say that is stretching its etymological
88roots.

89 Before, teachers only used papers such as cartolina and any other material, but how
90using projector for Power Point presentation instead of papers.

91 In the past decades multimedia has been influenced the whole world by making
92lives easier, in terms of communication, business and in classroom discussions, but

102This study focuses on how effective powerpoint presentation when used inside the
103classroom for discussion. The study will be conducted inside the Pamantasan ng
104Lungsod ng Valenzuela. The randomly picked ten (10) respondents are from SHS
105students from different strands who are exposed from powerpoint presentation. The
106study will discuss the effectiveness, teaching style, problems, solution, and suggestion
107to improve the Powerpoint Presentaion. The comparison of the modern way of
108teasching and traditional way is not included in this study .

110THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

112 Theoretical Framework This study utilized the Multiple Intelligence developed by
113Psychologist Howard Gardner. Among those intelligence is Spatial-Visual Intelligence
114which means students easily understand the lesson when seeing visual images
115specially using Power Point Presentation, while others learn through Audio -Visual
116wherein they usually use not only their sense of sight but also with the use of their
117auction. The Theory of Howard Gardner simply supports this study where in Power
118Point Presentation is a tool that clearly shows images, video clips that are related to the
119lesson being discussed by the teachers. Some students find the lesson easier because
120they see images that helps them remember it and the way their teachers presented it
121will make them recall it.

177the use of words and images. He said that the students learn better with multimedia.

180study proves that an easy way to catch the viewers attention and to make teachers

198Point presentation gives a big impact in terms of teaching and business because using
199power point presentation is easy to prepare lessons and it is also easy to learn how to
200present it. Presentation is no longer in a traditional type of teaching instead of using
201manila paper they use slideshow that catch the attention of a students and because of
202that teachers enhance their creativity. In the field of business, power point presentation
203become popular they use it to orient new employees to make things easier to
204understand. Power Point presentation has a lot of use in any different jobs and it have a

206 When theyll move on to the Text Boxes, Links, & Graphics unit. Students will
207continue learning the basics of PowerPoint through two hands on assignments.
208Specifically, students will learn about text boxes, clip art, shapes, WordArt, hyperlinks,
209and Action Buttons. Students will download and use images from a ZIP file and create a
210PowerPoint Photo Album with captions (Applied Education System [AES],2014).

216blackboard teaching. However, students felt blackboard was ineffective in a
217demonstration of clinical conditions (28.5%) and covering more topics per lecture
218(26.5%). These parameters scored highest preference in PPT teaching method. The
219parameters such as flow of thought (14.2%), student-teacher interaction (16.3%), and
220stimulating interest (22.4%) were scored low with PPT teaching method. It is stated in

221their study that the result is comparable to the previous studies by Banerjee , et al, and
222Novelli and Fernandes. Moreover, handouts are not given out in advance in blackboard
223teaching, so the students tend to focus more intently on the lecturer. Hence, a good
224lecturer can motivate the students on a journey of discovery, exposing students to one
225interesting fact after another by blackboard teaching method. Students will have better
226retention of the subject afterward if the notes are written with the lecturer's explanation.
227However, blackboard teaching aid may cause note-taking fatigue, especially after
228continuous lectures. If the students lose focus for even a short moment, it can be
229difficult to catch up with the lecturer. To a certain extent, the legibility of the lecturer's
230handwriting also plays an important role for the method's success.

788 This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness,problems,and solutions

789for visual learning as an aid for teaching devices specially from Senior High School

790Students of Pamantasan Ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela. In this study,ambush interview and

791descriptive research design were used,where in the researchers made a detailed study

792about the effectiveness of Power Point to the students. The words are used as a data

793for analysis.Convenient sampling was used due to the availability of the respondent to

794participate on the study. And the answers from the interview would be the data that the

795researchers were going to undergo analysis to come up in one conclusion.

796 Ten (10) students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela that are from

797different strands that is exposed from PowerPoint Presentation inside their class. The

798findings shows that the Technological Design is one of the thing that students remember

799and understands the lesson and that would be the reason why PowerPoint Presentation

800is Effective because they are seeing visual images. This study actually focuses on three

801areas (1) Effectiveness of PowerPoint Presentation for visual learning,some of these

802examples are being attentive of students during class and motivavtion through the

809presented because many teachers used PowerPoint Presentation thats why it is hard

810for them to recall on what is the exact lesson is being discussed. And lastly, they said

811that the PowerPoint Presentation must be match with the teaching style. So the

812researchers concluded that a good teaching ability is a great partner to a good

813presentation.

1351R: Mas naiintindihan ko siya kasi kapag kasi manila Paper or blackboard or whiteboard

1372d'un sa boses ganun or dun sa way ng pagtuturo niya ganun... Kaya minsan inaantok

1375R: Hindi naman kasi depende yun sa teacher kasi pa... lalo na kapag matanda na yung
1376teacher mo kasi ahm.... hindi nila masyadong kabisado yung ano technology na yun eh
1377so hindi naman nila parang hindi.... hindi sila sanay sa ganun so nagkoconsume talaga
1378siya ng oras para magpiprepare ng presentation ganun.

1382R: Ano... every lesson may ano... talaga siya may powerpoint presentation.

1384R: Siguro ano... siguro mga tatlo apat... ay tatlo... ay tatlo lang... tatlo lang.

1385I: What can you suggest to improve teachers way of teaching?

1386R: Ano siguro parang mas maging lively pa silang magturo tapos kapag hindi
1387naintindihan ng estudyante dapat makikita namin sa kanila yung willingness na ulitin
1388talaga yung lesson ganun.
1389I: So ano naman yung masasuggest mo sa mga tteacher na gumagamit ng power
1390point presentation.

1391R: Sana mas ano yung... mas ano yung content nila ay yung font na ginagamit nila is
1392visible talaga tapos yung kasi minsan yung iba ano eh... hindi... malaki nga yung nasa
1393font pero hindi naman visible dahil dun sa kulay ng ginagamit nilang ano... dahil dun sa
1394kulay ng ginagamit nilang ano... ginagamit powerrpoint nila mabasa ganun parang
1395useless na lang makikinig ka na lang sa kanya.
