ACTIVITY:
REFLECTION:
I think performance-based assessment is sometimes characterized as
assessing real life, with students assuming responsibility for self-
evaluation. Testing is done to a student, while performance
assessment is done by the student as a form of self-reflection and
self-assessment which is far way better that paper and pencil exam.
Experience is the best teacher, therefore, letting our student
experience first-hand the things we taught them in school would help
them understand and learn more. Performance-based assessment
can also evaluate not only their knowledge but also the different
aspect of their ability most likely their creativity.

As future teachers, we should create more performance-based

assessment to our students despite of its limitation. It will take time
for us to make and evaluate but practically speaking, it can help our
students more than paper and pencil test. We also have to make sure
that in group activities, each student has an individual grade and we
should assess them accordingly using a rubric or guide questions. So
that all of our students would be feel equal in assessing them.
Because its not good to give especial treatment and that bias that
we called. As a future teacher, its so hard and quite difficult to feel
and to hear what theyre telling to you.

So with the help of the criteria, the students would feel satisfied in
performing their performance. Because criteria would help them to
assess well.
REFLECTION:
Affective domain is the opposite side of cognitive domain, which
includes attitude, feeling, values, motivation, and so on. But the
cognitive domain is about recollection, comprehension, evaluation,
analysis and so on.

As we can see, cognitive domain is more objective than affective

domain, so maybe we can treat it as the basic reflection of reality. On
the other hand, the affective domain is not only easier for individuals
to effect, but also significant to rethink or maybe produce some new
things in the world.

Affective domain is intangible product in everybodys brain, but it

contains a huge power. In my opinion, the knowledge represents
history, reality, and so on, which is someone elses wisdom or
experience. If you want to learn knowledge, there is no end in front
you. On the other hand, a better choice is learning wisdom from
limited knowledge which you received during your limited life.

In assessing affective learning outcomes, the evidences of students

learning outcomes were gathered and examined for emerging
patterns and trends in the students reflective thinking that relates to
the course objectives. The document analysis method was applied to
identify and match the students reflective writings with the learning
objectives. Findings reveal students achievement of learning
outcomes and higher order thinking skills, as outlined in the course
objectives. It is hoped that findings from this research will further
support the significance of reflective thinking on learning. Reflective
notes provide meaningful feedback on learning to instructors that
could be acted upon towards improvement of a course. Educators
and educationists could look at students reflective writings as an
effective form of assessment that would provide a more insightful
assessment of students learning and thoughts.
