HOOK:

Facilitator invites all attendees and panelists arrange themselves in the room
WITHOUT SPEAKING in the following categories:

Tallest to shortest

Group together by eye color

In order from number of years' experience in theatre education

PANEL:
Facilitator invites attendees and panelists participate in a Spectrum of Difference
activity with the following categories:

Are you associated with a professional theatre, or a public school/classroom

setting?

Is the theatre you do more product (just doing plays) or process (using
theatre in the classroom) focused?

In the area where you work, are you well-funded, or do you find that you have
to fight for any kind of funding?

Do you see yourself as more a teacher, or a student?

Would you say that your work space is culturally diverse?

Upon completion, attendees pair up and share their response to the following
question:
What does Theatre Education mean to you based on where you are in your
training/career?
If time permits, answer: What made you get involved in Theatre Education?").

After attendees have answered this, each panelist will introduce themselves and
state where they are in their training/career. They will also answer the following
questions: What does Theatre Education mean to you? And what made you get
involved in Theatre Education? PLEASE DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN 3 MINUTES and
the order will be: Madi, Kendall, Kenya, Emily, Sherre, Molly, Cameron, Nicole.

From there, each attendee will join with the panelist they identify with most. If any
of the panelists aren't joined with anyone, please join another group. Each group will
then make 2 different tableaux based on their shared experiences and their
divergent experiences in Theatre Education. PANELISTS, this is the opportunity for
you to sort of take charge, seeing as how Preston cannot split himself into multiple
persons and be in charge. Each group will dynamize their tableaux to transition
between shared experience and divergent experiences. (If you don't know what this
means, it just means you have one still image and then in a countdown you fluidly
move into the other still image, Preston will count down from 5 for this
change). Each group shows the image and the other group shares what they see,
and/or Preston will do thought-tracking (touch someone in the tableaux on the
shoulder and ask them to share their thoughts about what they feel in the
tableaux).

REFLECTION:
After this, we will all gather in the circle and each person will fill in the blank to one
of the following sentences:

I learned that I am not alone in __________

I learned that I am unique in __________
