Dust Control

Dust Control

This section describes Area CRCC management and control plan of dust inside the project site.
CRCC comply with this section to minimize generated dust impact to adjacent structures. Fugitive
dust caused by traffic on unpaved roads or earth moving activities may cause localized annoyance
and temporary property impacts. Dust produced from the construction activities has the potential
to penetrate nearby homes and cause nuisance and health conditions such as allergies and
respiratory conditions.

General Requirements

Dust control will be implemented by CRCC its subcontractors in areas of active


construction. Dust control shall also be implemented on access roads to prevent dust
plumes.
Water truck shall be provided to spray dust suppressant (water) regularly on site.

Control of Unpaved Roads on Project Site

Water will be used to suppress generated dust caused by traffic on unpaved roads on the
project site.

Water truck shall spray water on a regular basis on the unpaved roads and access to the
project site.

Traffic speed limit shall be kept at 20kph and speed limit signs shall be posted to provide
information to drivers.

Vehicle drivers and heavy equipment operators will limit engine idling time and shut down
equipment when not in use.

As much as possible, removal of vegetation shall be avoided to reduce wind-blown dust.

Dust Control

Control of Disturbed Areas on Project Site

Excavation works with the use of mechanical equipment shall be done on times approved
by SAPO to minimize nuisance dust affecting other personnel on adjacent structures.

Construction areas that generate dust shall be regularly sprayed with water and kept damp.
Sufficient staff will be assigned to conduct continuous water spraying to maintain and
implement dust control.

Heavy equipment operators shall be trained and informed on how to keep the operation of
their equipment generate as small amount of dust as possible by appropriate training (such
as tool box talk, Dust prevention training).
