6. Assessment
- Physical education task
Learners are assessed on their participation in tasks,
which will result in further development, enjoyment
and increase learners confidence.

7. Link with other subjects.

- Natural science: learners understand the importance
of physical wellness and through physical activity, we
look after our body.
- English: taking instruction from the educator and
understanding what is required of them for each
activity.
- Creative arts: Learners perform warming up and
cooling down activities, similar to the locomotors that
are done before and after a drama play.

8. Safety issues
Warming up- Learners understand the importance of
warming up to avoid any injuries. A slow jog and a class
stretch was done to ensure muscles are warm and no
learner gets hurt unnecessarily.

Sharp objects The class walked around the field and

looked for any sharp or hazardous objects that could be
thrown away prior to the warming up.

First Aid Kit- A first aid kit was at my disposal. If any

learner got injured, I would be able to assist them.

Cooling down- Similarly to a warming up session, after all

the activities are completed, all learners should take a
slow jog to the bottom of the field and back. This is done
to ensure learners do not cramp or feel any sort of
discomfort after.

Question 2

2.1. CAPS

Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement

2.2.

Debate- This type of lesson features two groups debating

the merits of an issue. Such a lesson requires thorough
preparation and the maintenance of control and discipline.
It is particularly appropriate to a discussion of values.

Role play- During this type of lesson a teacher assumes

the role of a character to someone else and asks the
learner to similarly play the part of other characters. It
could involve a visual representation of events or it could
take the form of a dialogue, a debate, a narrative etc.

Outdoor lesson- The aim of an outdoor lesson is not to

vary things for learners but to do something which could
be difficult to accomplish inside the classroom. Example,
climatological activity such as measuring wind speed

Narrative lesson- By this type of lesson, the subject

matter is conveyed by means of a narrative. While this
could be very boring, it could be made highly interesting
with the use of attractive teaching aids (EG. Slides and
photos)

Discussion lesson- This type of lesson takes form of a

discussion of a theme/issue/problem by learners and
teacher. It works especially well with older learners when
the discussion is about a mater which affects their daily
lives and which they have something to say
