Question 1

1. Aims (Knowledge, skills, values and attitudes), (SKVAs)

Knowledge- Participating in and execution of a game plan in a

team sport (Soccer).

Skills- How to effectively work with others as members of a team.

Values and attitudes- Understanding the importance of working

with others to achieve a group goal.

2. Size of group
Learners are placed into 4 groups of 7

3. Group roles
-The 7 learners are all given equal responsibility by having to perform all
the tasks required.
- They are requested to motivate one another during the task to ensure
that the group achieves their goals in the allocated time.

4. Group Activities
Activity 1: Dribble Relay
- Learners are put into 4 groups of 7
- 10 cone markers are placed on the ground with a 1 metre distance
between each of them. (Each group has 10 cone markers)
- Every group is lined up behind one set of cone markers
- The first learner of each group is handed a soccer ball for them to
place down on the ground.
- The objective of this activity is for each learner to swirl through the
10 cone markers with the ball and return back the same way and
pass it to his group member.
- Only once the first learner has fully completed the activity, can the
next learner in the group begin.

- The group that has all learners complete the dribble relay by
swirling through each cone marker with the ball and back will be
crowned the winner
- This activity teachers learners to have good balance and ball control

Activity 2: Freeze tag

- One group (Group 1) of 7 learners form a circle. Each learner should

be approximately 4-5meters apart from one another
- 2 learners from another group (Group 2) will enter into the circle
- The objective of this game is for the 2 learners (group 2) to try and
get the ball as many times as possible from (Group 1)
- - If any of the 2 learners get the ball, they should keep count of how
many times and return the ball back to the group of 7.
- The 7 learners in group 1 need to pass the ball around between
them so that the 2 learners are unable to get it.
- This activity takes place for 5 minutes
- If the two learners feel tired, it is possible for them to swop with
any of the other remaining 5 learners in their group who would just
be sitting.
- After 5 minutes the teams swop. All 7 learners of group 2 then form
a circle and 2 learners from group one would enter the circle.
- The group who was able to get the ball the most times during the 5
minute duration will be declared the winner
- This activity focuses on endurance, agility and ball control

another at the bottom end of the field.
- Each of the 4 learners in the front of their respected groups will be
handed a ball at their feet.
- As the educator, I will be standing at the top end of the field.
- Once I scream out the words Green light, the starting 4 learners
should run with the ball on their feet towards me.
- As soon as I scream the words Red Light they should stop at that
exact position. If seen running, they will be eliminated from the
race.
- I will continue to shout the words green light and red light until the
first learner reaches me. The group who has the most learners
reach me with the ball will be declared the winners of the task
- This activity focuses on ball control, listening skills and sprinting

5. Resources or LSMs (Learning Support Materials)

- Soccer balls
- Cone Markers
- Whistle
- Basic first aid kit

6. Assessment
- Physical education task
Learners are assessed on their participation in tasks, which will
result in further development, enjoyment and increase learners
confidence.

7. Link with other subjects.

- Natural science: learners understand the importance of physical
wellness and through physical activity, we look after our body.
- English: taking instruction from the educator and understanding
what is required of them for each activity.
- Creative arts: Learners perform warming up and cooling down
activities, similar to the locomotors that are done before and after
a drama play.

8. Safety issues
Warming up- Learners understand the importance of warming up to
avoid any injuries. A slow jog and a class stretch was done to ensure
muscles are warm and no learner gets hurt unnecessarily.

Sharp objects The class walked around the field and looked for any
sharp or hazardous objects that could be thrown away prior to the
warming up.

First Aid Kit- A first aid kit was at my disposal. If any learner got injured, I
would be able to assist them.

Cooling down- Similarly to a warming up session, after all the activities

are completed, all learners should take a slow jog to the bottom of the
field and back. This is done to ensure learners do not cramp or feel any
sort of discomfort after.

Question 2

2.1. CAPS

Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement

2.2.

Debate- This type of lesson features two groups debating the merits of an
issue. Such a lesson requires thorough preparation and the maintenance
of control and discipline. It is particularly appropriate to a discussion of
values.

Role play- During this type of lesson a teacher assumes the role of a
character to someone else and asks the learner to similarly play the part
of other characters. It could involve a visual representation of events or it
could take the form of a dialogue, a debate, a narrative etc.

Outdoor lesson- The aim of an outdoor lesson is not to vary things for
learners but to do something which could be difficult to accomplish inside
the classroom. Example, climatological activity such as measuring wind
speed

Narrative lesson- By this type of lesson, the subject matter is conveyed

by means of a narrative. While this could be very boring, it could be made
highly interesting with the use of attractive teaching aids (EG. Slides and
photos)

Discussion lesson- This type of lesson takes form of a discussion of a

theme/issue/problem by learners and teacher. It works especially well
with older learners when the discussion is about a mater which affects
their daily lives and which they have something to say
