Sadly, in t

he next 5 minutes when I do our chat, the basic rights of thousands, if

not hundreds and thousands of people around this world will be
violated. I am talking today about how the infringement of human
rights destroy peace.
Each year, on september 21st, people all around the world celebrate the international day of
peace. While from some, it is a moment of joy, pride, glory, for others it is not. There are people
in this world, voiceless people, that just want to be noticed, they just want to stand up, speak up
and be heard. For them, that holiday is a reason of sadness, but, at the same time, it is also a
reason of hope. They have faith that someday, their rights will be acknowledged, respected and
they will not fear to defend themselves from the humiliation and injustice that they have been
subjected to.

They are fundamental rights to which a person is inherently entitled simply because she or he is
a human being.

We cannot talk about peace when we see that someones political interest is depriving innocent
people from their basic needs.

One of the most essential norms, The right to live, liberty, personal security has been trampled on
so many times. For example, lets just look at the last 3 months, in January 164 terrorist attacks,
in February- 116 and in march- 15 . Can you believe it? Its only been 10 days and 15 incidents
have already occured in 10 different places! More than 130 people dead and more than 220
injured! Almost 50 countries have been attacked just this year! How come? Is there an officiar
war in Egypt? In Greece? In Canada even? No! there is not. But peace is not there either. No
ones life should be such a bother, that someone has to end it.In this world, theres room for
everyone! Theres enough land and enough water, enough air and enough sun to ensure a happy
life.We should learn to live by each others happiness, not by each others misery! But
unfortunately, we have not yet come to understand that more than cleverness, we need humanity!

How about we talk about the right of a person to have a family and a home? The United Nations
website publishes articles about the distressing situation some people have to endure. Again,
most of these countries, they dont have open armed conflicts, but the way citizens have to live
there resembles a real war. When we talk about millions of people in Africa who have been
displaced from their country of birth and separated from their families. They have fled for safety,
trying to avoid the wars from the neighboring countries, accepting to lose a family, a house. Not
only this right has been violated, but also! The right to Social security, the right to rest and
leisure, the right to adequate living standart! They have all been infringed!
As shown in the statistics from 21 February 2017 Almost 1.4 million children are at imminent
risk of death due to severe acute malnutrition this year in these countries. They suffer from
hunger, they do not receive humanitarian aid,+

We should also mention that before the conflicts in Nigeria, Central African Republic and South
Sudan escalated, around 30,500 children have been recruited to fight in case a war broke out.
Children have the right to live as well! The right to be secure, to be free from torture, from any
cruel and inhuman treatment. We can not sau that theres peace, when children as young as 10
years old are being directly and voluntarily taught about war.

I lived my life safely at a city, away from the deathly grips of war-tanks there on the
Middle East and Africa where most of the wars break-out. I would even consider
myself fortunate to be born in the Moldova. But I cannot remain cold and indifferent
watching the things happening outside my country. We need a genuine peace, that
kinds of peace that makes life worth living, that kind of peace that enables nations
to grow and build a better future.

Because When we build houses and infrastructures, we save nations. But when you
build harmony and peace, you save generations to come. This harmony can only be
build with respect and equality. This is why human rights are so important for a
peaceful world. One can only help someone with his full potential , if he disposes of
all of his legal rights. Peace is not the absence of war. Peace is the absence of life,
security, freedom, information, education, family, property and opinion.
