Executive Summary

Destination Graduation is an event aimed at helping students understand what needs to be done to get them
successfully to graduation and into the job market or graduate studies. Destination Graduation is formatted as
6 individual workshops. Students can come to as many of these workshops as they would like.

Here is a brief summary of the highlights from the spring 2015-2016 Destination Graduation event:

Positive Student Feedback: Student evaluations from after the Destination Graduation report strong
levels of satisfaction with the event:

o 100% of students felt the content was appropriate

o 96% of students were satisfied with the speakers and presenters
o 100% of students would recommend the event to other students

Support from Campus Partners: Destination Graduation would not be a success without the support
of partners from across campus and in the community. Campus partners include the Student Financial
Aid, the Graduate School, and NIU College of Business.

Attendance: Nearly 55 students participated over the course of the fall and spring semesters.

Event Description

Destination Graduation is an event aimed at helping students understand what needs to be done to get them
prepared for after graduation into the job market or graduate studies. The event has been held each spring
since the 2010-2011 academic year. In its conception we have only had them in the spring but now we offer
Destination Graduation workshops in the fall and spring semester.

The event is structured in one hour workshops spread throughout the semester. There is a formal
presentation (most times with a guest speaker) and a question and answer section at the end. A student can
attend more than one workshop.

Figure 1 below shows information about the attendance at Destination Graduation. In all, 55 students
attended Destination Graduation for the 2015-2016 School year.

Demographic Information

In all, 55 students attended Destination Graduation. These students were from a variety of backgrounds
and majors. However, upon looking at the demographic information, broken down into several charts
below, a few patterns are quickly noticed:

Evaluations

Evaluations were provided to students at the conclusion of each night of the event. The evaluation forms
primarily assess student satisfaction with the event. The evaluations include a total of 7 questions. A total
of 55 student evaluations were received over the course of the 6 workshops. A full list of questions and
responses are included in Appendix A.

Figures 3-6 outlines the results from the individual evaluations. The sessions were well liked by
students, as 92% felt that the content was relevant to NIU students, 81% felt that the sessions were
useful to them and job search, 98% felt that the presenters were effective, and 84% would recommend
the session to other NIU students.
