When I was interviewing Kwon Ji-Yong- The South Korean

rapper, singer, songwriter, record

producer, and fashion icon- it was

obvious to gather that I was in the presence of someone who was both greatly
successful and genuinely down to earth. As I spoke to Ji-Yong

more about his journey to where

he is now it seemed as though

he took a modest approach-

I am proud of where I am now because I worked so hard to get here.

- and this just made me appeal to him more. I am not a major stan of

G-Dragon but I have listen to

enough of his music to know that he does have an extraordinary talent

and it was a privilege for him to be so informative. He continued to beseech

about the period of his life where he was a YG Entertainment rookie and
trainee. - YG Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company which
operates as a record label, talent agency, and music production company.

When I joined YG Ji-Yong began to share I had the intentions of becoming a

solo artist like Yang Hyun-Suk and other artists. However, I was introduced to
four other members and we would then become

BIGBANG.

BIGBANG is the biggest Korean boy group in Asia containing, T.O.P (Choi Seug-
Hyun Top), Daesung (Kang Dae-sung), Taeyang (Dong Young-Bae), Choi Seun-
gri (Seungri) and Kwon Ji-Yong/ G-Dragon himself. The group officially Debuted
in August, 2006- they were not instantly a success- They had their big break in
2007 with their hit single Lies (), this song won the song of the year
award at the 9th Mnet Music Awards.

It was a long and sometimes painful process for us. I was not

disappointed to be a part of the group

because we get on so well-- Ji-Yong in

regards of being a part of BIGBANG. Dance

practice was the best as we were all pretty bad!

Ji-Yong officially made his solo debut in 2009 with the single Heartbreaker
which was the number one single of his album Single With The Same Name-
This album was awarded album of the year at the 11th Mnet Music awards.
2012 was a key year in the success of G-Dragon as he produced the album One
of a Kind containing the singles One of a Kind, Crayon and That XX. The album
was critically acclaimed,

earning Record of the Year at the 22nd Seoul Music Awards. His second full
album Coup DeTat matched the success of his first and bettered Ji-Yongs
reputation and he won Artist of the Year at the 15th Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Further from this he has also achieved the World's Best Entertainer and
World's Best Album awards at the 2014 World Music Awards, thus earning his
reputation and making his mark as a solo artist in the music industry.

I continued to ask G-Dragon about his idea of being able to perform in other
countries. He stated America was a big turning point for Me as an artist and
BIGBANG as group as it has helped for us to reach out to new fans. He
continued with It is such an honour to be able to perform for our fans in other
countries. Because of the interest in America it allowed for YG to extend
BIGBANGs world tour for the Album M.A.D.E. Of course the reasons for the
success are down to the large population and so I decided to take one for the
English team.

Would you ever consider coming over to England for a performance? I

managed to slip out of my mouth. With this Ji-Kwon seemed to spontaneously
preach.

It has always been an aim of ours to go to England and perform for our fans!
With the expanding possibility of our genre of music reaching England in all
varieties of Media it means that it could be seen as a more attainable dream!
he continued with; Yes its an extreme possibility for us to be able perform in
England and maybe with our next release there may be some release dates and
venues!

And so now we know now that Ji-Yong plans to take England by storm and
involve all of the fan bases here. BIGBANG are now rumoured to be

requesting a variety of dates at venues all over England including Wembley

and O2 venues in each county. Fans everywhere should say up to date with any
social media or updates they may receive from following the group. YG
Entertainment are revealing new leaks of a new music video and we are hoping
there is a new concept to follow and there for a new world tour to be
scheduled. We were glad to receive support from both CL and G-Dragon for our
first issue of our magazine. The King and Queen of Kpop themselves express
their love for the magazine and sell themselves as huge fans of the British
magazine in association with Kpop.
