AG007 Thracian Islands, Thasos (c. 140-110 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Head of young Dionysos facing right,
wearing an ivy-wreath, rev HPAKEOY / THPO / AIN, Herakles, naked except for a lions skin draped
over his left arm, standing facing, inclined slightly to the left, resting his right hand on a club, M between the club

A Superb Tetradrachm of Athens, stylistically matching the
issue of Dekadrachms

AG030 Attica, Athens (c. 475-465 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic
helmet decorated with three olive-leaves and a palmette, rev AE, owl standing right, its head facing, an olive-sprig
and a crescent behind; all within an incuse square, 17.12g., 12h (Svoronos pl. 8, 18-22; Starr, Group II.C (unlisted
dies); Weber 3438). Of superb style, bearing all the attributes of the Athenian Dekadrachms, very well-centred with almost all
of the crest visible, with a delightful little owl, set perfectly within the incuse square, nearly extremely fine. 12,000
The style of this beautiful piece is such that it must be contemporary with the famous Dekadrachms (475-465 B.C.).
