Executive Summary

This design project is an industry-based project which the proponents had their On-the-Job
Training (OJT) Program. The design project is focused of the enhancement of the warehouse facility of
Personal Collection Direct Selling Incorporation. Each design proposal is subject to applicable standards
and is weighted to the level of importance that will be used for the trade-offs. The project includes
constraints such as (1) Economic, (2) Environmental, (3) Health and Safety, (4) Sustainability, and (5)
Inspectability.

The proponents conducted an overall time and motion study in the process of inbound (receiving
and put away) and outbound (picking and dispatching). Thus, three design options would be presented and
assessed based on the applicable standards to come up with a factor rating method. Design option one (1)
which is the proper relocation of working areas is the best alternative among the other options not only it
has the highest value in the factor rating method but also it has the reduced cost in terms of energy cost.
Also, the computed percent efficiency for design option one is moved up to 32% increase when
implemented. The design criteria for the warehouse facility cost-effectiveness, safety precautions, inventory
handling, and ease in inspection. Afterwards, the proponents would come up and improve the efficiency of
the warehouse facility.
