to keep up with Advanced New Technologies Syosset, NY, July 15, 2010 -- New York College of Health Professions, a nonprofi t, nationally accredited institution of higher learning, has announced the recei pt of the donation of a revolutionary patent pending system for worldwide first responders based on location. Lisa Pamintuan, president of the College, announced the donation and relayed tha t "the inventor/donor is also the inventor of the Innovation Fund III Early Loca tion Based Advertising Patents, which are widely regarded as a major breakthroug h in commercial location based advertising. Innovation Fund III was formerly pa rt of the Innovation Fund family of companies (www.Innfund.com)." This donated patent involves Emergency Based Responders and locating them on a priority syste m in direct proportion to the significance of the emergency, no matter where the y are in the world. These emergency responders can be used for natural disasters , health care, fire or police situations, or virtually any emergency, and throug h this system the appropriate responder can be matched and deployed instantly to the crisis location through the growing number of smartphones and microprocesso rs worldwide. "We think this Intellectual Property will broaden the College's g rowing portfolio, which is now one of the largest assets of our institution of h igher learning," president Pamintuan added. Normally, people in need of help call numbers that are routed to nearby switchbo ards, which then dispense appropriate responders from a local or regional pool. Under this new system, responders in a worldwide database would be matched to t he response needed, and the request for assistance would be triaged directly to the actual responders who meet the criteria, as well as are in the nearby area a nd can be accessed utilizing GPS and other locators. In order for this system to become adopted nationally and internaticenses, to respond." onally, "some of the laws governing licensing and jurisdiction will have to be a mended to accommodate the greater good" says Pamintuan. "International disasters and worldwide relief efforts have shown the power of us ing global non- political responders. However, while doctors, nurses and health care workers often volunteer in worldwide emergencies, there are still state la ws that should be amended to meet the realities of the capability of newer techn ologies. They should allow all qualified personnel, regardless of state license s, to respond." New York College and its principals have worked closely in the past with the for mer New York State Homeland Security "Czar", the Honorable Michael Balboni. â We are excited about this newest addition to the Intellectual Property Portfolio of the College which we believe will become increasingly important to our instit ution over the next decade,â said Pamintuan.
