All About Scientific Notation!!
What is scientific notation?
Scientific notation is a way of making big and
small numbers easier to work with. You do it
by moving the decimal place until you have a
number in between 1 and 10, then you simply
add a power of ten that says how many places
you moved the decimal point
What is it used for?
Scientific notation is used by scientists,
mathematicians and engineers because it
simplifies complicated equations, making
them easier to solve

How do you convert numbers into scientific notation?
Example of a big number: Example of a decimal number:

Place the decimal point between both non-zero Place the decimal point between the first and

numbers?

1.47 x 10 Add the exponents
