I have had the privilege to work with Marco Baltazar through his involvement in
(416) 979-5000 ext. 4507 BUS100: Strategies for Success over the past two years. A primary part of
natasha.nesrine@ryerson.ca Marcos roles with our team has been to facilitate undergraduate classes,
teaching them strategies for success. Marcos strong academic performance
Ted Rogers School coupled with his engaging and positive personality made him a strong candidate
of Management, for the position to begin with and, throughout his time with BUS100, Ive seen
Ryerson University Marco grow tremendously.

The topics Marco covers in his classroom include communication, time

management, diversity and inclusion, and several others. The underlying themes
of the course are resilience and self authorship. Facilitators must demonstrate
exemplary leadership qualities and their ability to be a role model who practices
what they preach. They must also have strong interpersonal and communication
skills to manage and teach in an undergraduate classroom.

Marcos eagerness to help his peers, and leadership within not only his
classroom, but also in our team made him stand out for the position of the Lead
Facilitator after only his first year working for the BUS100 team at the Academic
Success Centre. To become a Lead, a Facilitator must go above and beyond as
a role model for their students. They also have to demonstrate their ability to
train others in the skills required to command a classroom and facilitate learning
at an undergraduate level. He does this by strategically planning ahead for
success using the principles he teaches in his classroom as well as guiding his
team to develop their skills, all with an inspiring and positive attitude. As a Lead
Facilitator for BUS100, Marco is in charge of coaching and evaluating a team of
9 Facilitators to develop their facilitation skills, Ryerson knowledge and
confidence. In every role hes held, Marco has always exceeded expectations.

Ryerson, TRSM and the BUS100 community, in particular, have a lot to thank
Marco for as many of our students university experiences wouldnt be the same
without his guidance. It is with great pleasure that I recommend Marco Baltazar
