Subject: Transit & Night halt SOP
Date : 31/03/11

Effective : Forthwith
Purpose : To streamline procedure during Transit/Night halt

Description:
It has been noted that at times certain maintenance functions during Transit & Night
halt are not done as per procedure. To avoid such occurrences following
procedures are to be adopted:

Stowage of cockpit Boom set - It is required that the boom set coil should not be wrapped
around the headset. Correct procedure is to be followed by engineering staff to avoid any
damage to the coil. (Pics attached to display correct & incorrect stowage procedures).

Engineering Box contents Contents of the engineering box are not to be used during Night
halt & for any planned work during Transit. These are for use during unscheduled
maintenance situation.

A/C Flashlight Aircraft flashlight is not to be used during any maintenance activity. They are
only for emergency.

Refueling panel opening Refueling panel should not be opened until fuel bowzer arrives, as
early opening of the panel creates a false indication (of refuelling in progress) to the Flight
crew.

Cargo door opening Last minute cargo door opening, if required, should be done in
consultation with the Flight crew only.

Signing of PDR In accordance of Pit stop shop, PDR is to be presented to Flight crew within
24-28 mins after ATA of A/C at DEL/BOM & within 21-25 mins. for rest of the stations.

Marshalling kit - In addition to Transit kit, one standby marshalling kit should be carried by
the technician containing Marshalling bat/torch (whichever applicable) & to be used for
marshalling in case AOCS staff is not available for marshalling. Such occurrence should be
logged in shift register.
