If there is clearance between the bearing and the puller, insert five pieces of brass, 10x21x1.2 mm, in the bearing.

Remove the nut by hitting the socket so that the shock releases it.

Pull off the HP wheel (3rd). Remove the spacer ring and the engaging sleeve.

Pull off the hub for 2nd.

Remove 2nd gear and the needle bearing.

Pull off 1st gear and the tooth wheel and the bearing race for 2nd gear. Remove the needle bearing.

Note: Ensure that there is a small amount of clearance between the gearwheel and the arms so that the gearwheel is
not damaged.

Remove the engaging ring.

Turn the shaft over and fit it carefully in the puller 9990030.

Pull off reverse gear, bearing and spacing sleeve with piston rings. Remove reverse gear needle bearing.

Knock the spacing sleeve out of the bearing. Use a sleeve mandrel as support if necessary.

Check the part no. of the spacer sleeve and check TPI 431-033 in parts information.
If necessary, replace the spacer sleeve and transfer the piston rings to the new spacer sleeve.

Clean and inspect all components.

Oil in all the needle bearings, ball bearings and gears with transmission oil when reassembling.

Assemble

Place the main shaft in the press with the sun gear facing upwards.

Fit the reverse gear needle bearing.

Check the part no. of the spacer sleeve and check TPI 431-033 in parts information.
If necessary, replace the spacer sleeve and transfer the piston rings to the new spacer sleeve.

Carefully press on the spacing sleeve with the piston rings.

Note: Pressing on the spacing sleeve can only be done with the inner chamfer of the sleeve, otherwise the piston ring
groove can be damaged. It is therefore important to use the correct tool.

Turn over the shaft and fit the engaging sleeve for 1st/reverse. Fit the needle bearing and 1st gear with the engaging
sleeve teeth turned downwards.

Manually install the toothed wheel with the flange facing downwards until it passes the lubrication channel of the main
shaft. Then install the needle bearing race for the 2nd gear. Install the bearing race and the toothed wheel using tool
9996904 .

Fit the 2nd gear needle bearing and then 2nd gear with the teeth for the engaging sleeve facing up.

Fit the nut and socket wrench. Hold the shaft in the press with a load of approx. 10 tonne. Tighten the nut to a torque of
40050 Nm. Use tool 9996480.
