Rim systems, sidewall markings, legal requirements
Rim systems - Advantages of TL vs. TT:
Quicker Mounting, and Demounting
Less components (two pieces: tire and rim)
Can be done manually or with an electronic machine
Reduces time and costs
Better Uniformity
As a tubeless tire is mounted on a single piece rim, the tire beads
are seated left and right side equally accurate on the rim
Better Balance
As the bead seating is more accurate, the whole tire and wheel
assembly will be better balanced. This also assists with more even
tread wear, and can benefit fuel consumption.
More safety
Less risk of rapid air loss (a tube immediately
looses air after puncture)

Recommendations - Regrooving (source: Technical Data Book)
In order to further extend the service life, a truck tire which is marked regroovable can be
regrooved.
All Continental tires on which regrooving is permitted have on both sidewalls, in accordance
with ECE regulation 54, the marking REGROOVABLE

Regrooving should be carried out by an expert, in order to avoid premature failure as well as
any reduction in the tires suitability for retreading
The best condition for regrooving is when the tread is worn down to 3mm
The tire must be checked to make sure the wear is even all round
All regrooving must be in accordance with the tyre manufacturers recommendations
