Topic : Automatic Load Balancing (creating different clusters to group of application)

Summary : The best way to create the application and to acess the application is to go for load
balancing and creating different clusters to group of application, instead of creating one single cluster to
different application and accessing it. This way we can reduce the load on the server and increase the
performance of the Application.

Description :

The server or cluster has to be registered before accessing to the applications.

Two ways of creating clusters.

1.Configuration Utility
2. HFM Client

To register an application server cluster in configure Utilty

Start the EPM System Configurator and then click next

Select the Financial Management to be configured as shown in the below screen and click on next

Configure Dcom Uer and Password and click on next

Specify the path for Application Server for example: D:\Hyperion\products\FinancialManagement\Server

Add the clusters and Move the server from the available server tab to registered server.

Move the server and the cluster from the available servers/clusters to registered servers/clusters.

Check all the options for configuring the Web server.

Give the appropriate Web server destination (web server installation directory).

Specify the path for the smart view provider for example:
D:\Hyperion\products\FinancialManagement\Web\HFMOfficeProvider

Create a Datasource for the purpose of Extended Analytics and specify the UDL created in the server-
working folder in the Hyperion Home directory as the path for creating the DSN .

The products that are being configured are displayed in this screen. Click Next.

Once the configuration is done, The status is shown as completed.click finish to exit the configuration
utility.

Alternative way of creating and registering Cluster:

Open the HFM Client and Select Open Application.

Click on the small tab to the right side of the cluster tab to register the cluster

Register the cluster that is to be registered.

After regstering the cluster continue with opening the application. From the drop down in the Cluster tab
select the cluster that is registered.
