David Bowie was born in South London's Brixton neighborhood on January 8,

1947. His first hit was the song "Space Oddity" in 1969. The original pop
chameleon, Bowie became a fantastical sci-fi character for his breakout Ziggy
Stardust album. He later co-wrote "Fame" with Carlos Alomar and John Lennon,
which became his first American Number 1 single in 1975. An amazing actor,
Bowie starred in The Man Who Fell to Earth in 1976. He was initiated into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Shortly after releasing his final album,
Bowie died from cancer on January 10, 2016.
Born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Presley came from very
modest beginnings and grew up to become one of the biggest names in rock 'n'
roll. By the mid-1950s, he appeared on the radio, television and the silver
screen (movies). On August 16, 1977, at age 42, he died of heart failure, which
was related to his drug addiction. Since his death, Presley has remained one of
the world's most popular music icons.
Pop legend Madonna is known for her constant reinvention as a performer. Her
biggest hits include "Papa Don't Preach," "Like a Prayer," "Vogue," "Secret" and
"Ray of Light," among many others. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on
August 16, 1958. In 1981, she went solo as a pop singer and became a
sensation on the then male-dominated '80s music scene. By 1991, she had
achieved 21 Top 10 hits in the United States and sold more than 70 million
albums internationally. In January 2008, she was named the world's richest
female musician by Forbes magazine.
Adele was born in North London, England, on May 5, 1988, eventually attending
the performing arts BRIT School. Her first two albums, 19 and 21, earned her
critical praise and a high level of commercial success, with the artist selling
millions of albums worldwide and winning multiple Grammys. She also received
a songwriting Oscar for the James Bond track "Skyfall." After becoming a mom,
Adele returned in 2015 with the ballad "Hello," the lead single from her
comeback album 25. In 2017, she won five Grammys for her work
on 25 including album, record and song of the year for "Hello."

Lady Gaga was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986,
in New York City. She attended New York University's Tisch School for the Arts
but left to find creative expression. Her first album, The Fame, was a huge
success, and the single "Poker Face" was famous in almost every country. Lady
Gaga has earned acclaim for subsequent albums, including a collaboration
with Tony Bennett, and her performance on the American Horror Story series,
winning a Golden Globe for her participation as an actress.
Born in 1980 in Brazil, the model Gisele Bndchen began her career as a
teenager. She moved to New York City in 1997, and quickly became popular
among fashion magazines and top designers. In 2000, Bndchen signed a $25
million contract with Victoria's Secret, and became one of the highest-paid
models in the world. In 2009, Bndchen married the professional football player
Tom Brady. She gave birth to their first son in the same year.

Michelle Obama was born on January 17, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. She
attended Princeton University, graduating cum laude in 1985, and went on to
earn a degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. Following her graduation from
Harvard, she worked at a Chicago law firm, where she met her husband, future
U.S. president Barack Obama. The couple got married on October 3, 1992. As
first lady, she focused her attention on current social issues, such as poverty,
health and education.

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York,
into a comfortable, well-educated family. Mark Zuckerberg co-founded the
social-networking website Facebook out of his college dorm room. He left
Harvard to concentrate on the site, which has grown to more than 250 million
people, making Zuckerberg a billionaire. The birth of Facebook was recently
portrayed in the film The Social Network.
Rita Lee was born in So Paulo, Brazil. Her father was an American
Brazilian dentist and her mother was Brazilian with Italian ancestry. She was
educated in a French-language school and became fluent in Spanish, French,
and Italian, as well as her native Portuguese and the English that her parents
spoke at home. She went to college, where she was a colleague of the popular
actress Regina Duarte, but she soon left to pursue her musical career. Rita
Lee (born Rita Lee Jones, December 31, 1947) is
a Brazilian rock singer and song writer. She was part of the Brazilian band Os
Mutantes and is a popular figure in Brazilian entertainment, where she is also
known for being an animal rights activist and a vegetarian. She has sold more
than 60 million albums worldwide.

Folk rock singer-songwriter Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on
May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota. While attending college, he began
performing folk and country songs, taking the name "Bob Dylan." In 1961 Dylan
signed his first recording contract and became one of the most original and
influential voices in the history of American popular music. Showing no signs of
slowing down, Dylan has continued to tour in recent years, and released studio
albums including Together Through Life (2009), Tempest (2012), Shadows in
the Night (2015) and Fallen Angels (2016). The legendary singer-songwriter has
received Grammy, Academy and Golden Globe awards, as well as the Nobel
Prize for Literature.
