The number of operations can be reduced because multi-face machining is possible in a
single work setup. Class-leading indexing accuracy minimizes the cumulative error in each
axis to deliver stable high quality without requiring frequent corrections. Capable of handling
reverse boring, contouring and other machining operations requiring rigorous accuracy, the
D500 contributes to further innovations in manufacturing technology as a machining center
that provides the true benefits of 5-axis machining.

The D500's high productivity and superb machining quality make it everyone's choice for
unattended nighttime operation. Improving the level of automation, which has been one issue
of 5-axis machining centers, was another important development aim set for the D500.
The D500 is designed so that the operator's access to the table is unaffected
by the installation of a pallet changer.
The D500 is compatible with a wide variety of automation systems, including
a pallet changer (2 pallets), pallet magazine (8-21 pallets), MMC (21 pallets)
and Module MMC (FMS line).

This spindle can handle a wide variety of materials from
aluminum, cast iron and steel to difficult-to-cut materials.
A selection of three shanks is available: BT40 (standard),
BBT40 and HSK-A63 (the latter two are optional specifications).
The spindle accelerates rapidly to its top speed in just 1.4
sec. and to 7000 min-1 in only 0.6 sec.
