4.1 Making a Point-to-Point Conference Call

The ZXV10 T800A terminal can call another terminal to start a point-to-point video
conference or a point-to-point voice conference. The called party can be a video
conference terminal that supports the H.323 protocol or the SIP protocol, or a handset
terminal.

Prerequisite
l The terminal is not in a call.
l If you need to call an IP conference (the calling type is H.323 or SIP), the IP network
of the ZXV10 T800A terminal needs to be normally connected.
l If you need to call a PSTN conference, the Phone interface of the ZXV10 T800A
terminal needs to be connected to the PSTN network.
l To convent an E1 conference, the following conditions must be satisfied:
The ZXV10 T800A terminal supports E1: E1 interface card is installed on the
terminal host. The terminal license is configured to support E1.
E1 cables of the ZXV10 T800A terminals are correctly connected.

Steps
l Making a call from the main menu

the SIP server.
l If the registered H.323 name or the terminal number is used, both parties
should first register on the GK server. For how to register the GK, refer to
Table 1-6.
l If the SIP user name or "SIP user name@domain name" is used, the callee
must have already registered the SIP. For how to register the SIP, refer to
Table 1-7.
l For the terminal that does not register on the SIP server, only after Work
Mode is set to UC_SIP, can it call the IP address of peer party to initiate an
SIP conference. For the operations for setting the SIP work mode, refer to
Table 1-7.

c. Select Video Call or Audio Call as needed.

4.5 Operating a Dual-Stream Conference

4.5.1 Overview of the Dual Video Stream
The dual video stream means to transmit dual video stream (primary and secondary video)
simultaneously. The dual video stream shares the bandwidth resource. The dual video
stream could be the combination of any two items, including image of camera, image of
computer desktop, video of DVD or recorder.
Generally, the first video stream, or primary video, which occupies most of the bandwidth
is used to transmit the image of camera at the main site. The secondary video stream is

ZXV10 T800A General Operation Guide

used to transmit the image of the desktop, such as slides for training and learning or files of
other formats. Usually, this video stream is called presentation or secondary video. Each
of the presentation and the primary video occupies half of bandwidth by default.
The H.239 protocol is an international standard formulated by ITU-T. The H.239 protocol
can realize the interoperability between products made by different manufacturers in terms
of presentation.
For the functions of the presentation, please refer to the following table.

Table 4-9 Presentation Functions

Function Description

Presentation If Presentation Contended is enabled on the terminal which is sending

Contended a presentation, other terminals can send presentation by applying for the
presentation token manually.
If Presentation Contended is disabled on the terminal which is sending a
presentation, other terminals can not send presentation.

Auto Send If the local terminal enables Auto Send Presentation, the terminal
Presentation will automatically check the configuration and connection status of the
presentation, once the status is confirmed in the conference, the terminal
sends the presentation automatically.

Presentation Contended and Auto Send Presentation are displayed on Call Option
screen/page. To display the Call Option screen/page:

l Select > General > Call Option from the menu using the remote control.
l Log in to the Web page of the terminal, and select System Settings > General > Call
Option from the menu.

4.5.2 Managing Presentation

If there is only one video streaming input, the local terminal can send the presentation
(secondary video) to the conference.
If there is a terminal send the presentation (secondary video) to the conference, the local
terminal can send presentations by applying for the presentation token from the previous
token owner if the previous token owner has enabled Presentation Contended.
Before sending the presentation, you can preview the local presentation and check
whether it is normal.

After the presentation is sent successfully, every participant in the conference can receive
the presentation.

Prerequisite
l The terminal is connected with the secondary video source. For details, refer to the
ZXV10 T800A Quick Start Guide.

General Operations of
Conference Control
You can initiate a multipoint conference through the ZTE-developed MCU server (for
example, ZXV10 M900 and ZXV10 M9000).
l The terminal that is called through H.323 supports the conference control function,
that is to say, you can use the Conf key to perform related operations.
l The terminal that is called through SIP or PSTN does not support the conference
control function, that is to say, pressing the Conf key results in no response from the
system.

You can control a conference through the remote control or PC console. The following
sections describe how to control a conference through the remote control. For the PC
