Welcome to Comparative Literature! Faculty Spotlight


COMPARATIVE LITERATURE at Rutgers is a thriving interdisciplinary department offering a multi-tracked major and minor and an
innovative, wide-ranging doctoral program. Comp Lit students consider texts and performances across multiple languages, histories,
disciplines, and media. Each of our majors or minors constructs a unique course of literary, linguistic, and cultural study with the
supervision and support of our distinguished faculty. Well known for its emphases on critical thinking and incisive writing, Rutgers Comp Lit
seeks to prepare its students for the diverse world we commonly inhabit. Our graduates contribute significantly to the professions, the arts,
education, and the global media.

Qingfeng Nie and Penny Pui Chee Yeung, each the winner of President of the NAGS, for outstanding support of a graduate
a 2017 Mellon Summer Study Award student or graduate students from course completion through
our recent PhD Monica Filimon on the publication of her book research and placement. Criteria include: provision of sound advice

Professor Diamond in recognition of her outstanding effort as a

accounts of Elin's dedication to their professional personal and
progress.
