How The Industrial Revolution Affected

Families & Gender Roles

During the Industrial revolution, in the Big Era 7, it had change family and gender roles to many

different way. The industrial revolution cause a lot of change to our world right now. If the

Industrial revolution did not happened then right now people will live in the world without any

technology or equality between women and men in family. So today Ill talk about how the

industrial revolution affected families and Gender roles.

So before the industrial revolution started, women had no right to apply their own job from

outside of their family, in other word that women only needed to stayed at home and do the

family household like: look after their child or washing cloths, made dinner,... So during the

industrial revolution happened, these thing had changed around, women had their rights to had

their own job outside of their house liked working in some small factories like hat factories or

mine factories. Now they can earned the same wage as men did so now they are equality in life,

now their house income money can come from both women and men, but during that time,

women are able to keep a secret money from their husband, it's happened because their husbands

have not heard about the development still confused in their minds. But because of women could

have a job so that mean that there will be someone else who can replace women to do the

household then in that case, their child will had to do it, in order of that, they needed to do family

household very soon, because of the improvement of medicine and doctor that time, so now there
will be many generation live in one house that mean that these children can be help by their

Grandfather or grandmother or both. Also women can worked in a small shop like: seamstressing

shop, pottery shop or some textile shop that they opened with a cheaper cost, also people who

bought it' could order cloths that they want it's to look alike.

Finally I want to say that the industrial revolution affected a lot to our world right now. It had

changed from agriculture to mass-production and from physical-work to machines. Showing that

women had an equality with men in live and they need to respect each other, also women had

their rights to earn a job and have an equal wages as men did. So if the industrial revolution

didnt happened then we could not have live like now, we could be a farmer or worst, so the

industrial revolution is very important so it's need to be memorable.
