The Central Bank of Oman would like to recruit a competent candidate for the following

position:
Islamic Banking Executive
Position Reference: PDD/IBD/2016/1
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Formulation of policies and rules for Islamic Banking Entities.
Preparation of Memoranda and papers for Higher Sharia Supervisory Authority of
the Central Bank of Oman.
Appraisal and processing of applications for licensing Islamic Banking Entities as
well as processing of applications for approval for new products/ services.
Collate/ consolidate data on Islamic Banking, conduct joint studies on performance/
parameters related to Islamic Banking entities and prepare reports for higher
management.
Handling matters related to collaboration/ liaison with multi-lateral/ international
agencies like IMF, World Bank, AAOIFI, IFSB, etc. with respect to Islamic Banking
Investment banking related work of Islamic banking entities.
Educational Qualification:
A post graduate degree in Economics, Commerce, or professional qualifications in
Accounting or Finance.
Additional qualifications from accredited institutions in Islamic Banking will be
desirable.
Relevant Job Experience/ Requirements:
10 years of relevant experience of banking-related field with reasonable exposure to
Islamic finance on regulatory/ supervisory aspects.
Hands-on experience in Central Banks regulating/ supervising Islamic financial
institutions will be desirable.
Fluent in Arabic and English languages.
