Furthermore from the Desk of Advocate for Tribal Seniors:

She is a senior citizen with multiple health challenges. During a hospital stay that resulted into an
extensive recovery and therapy sessions at a senior assisted care facility, her home equity loan
payments fell behind and her property went into foreclosure. Her home had been paid in full but
was refinanced as a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit). Devastated, confused, frightened and
still dealing with her health challenges, Miss Ford was not aware of the government assistance
programs that are available to individuals and families who are faced with foreclosure. She tried
to make arrangements with her bank, made a payment which was returned to her. By this time
she learned that she was seriously behind and losing her home. Now she's here at her eviction
hearing about to get put out of her home of over 45 years with nowhere to go.

Judge Closz I ask you, is this fair? Have we no sympathy for our senior citizens? Is it right to put
a confused, frightened, sickly senior citizen out in the cold with nowhere to go? Should the bank
be required to make exceptions and help our senior citizens save their homes instead of making
them homeless in their latter years? The bank doesn't need Miss Ford's home, but Miss Ford
does. Making her leave her home after living there for over 45 years will just about or will kill
her. Her neighbors have become her family and her community has become her security.

Judge Closz, please do not allow this to happen in your courtroom! The bank should work with
Miss Ford and refinance this very small loan of less than $35,000 and not take her home.

We must fight for our senior citizens and help them to understand when things they don't fully
understand are happening to them. We have to stand up and become the voice for our senior
citizens. If we don't who will?

Judge Closz, I am an advocate for law and order and I believe in doing what's right, but there
comes a time when what's right is WRONG. Your Honor sir, I strongly believe that putting Miss
Ford, a senior citizen out of her home of over 45 years in the middle of winter is WRONG!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Hottoh Yunwia
