profiled in the article Class in America: Myths and Realities. How do their lives and lifestyles help to

Mantsios says that enormous class differences in the lifestyles among the haves, have
nots, and the have little can be found in American society. In the same way,
Ej: Lower-class standing is correlated with a lower quality of treatment for diseases,
and opposite way high class standing is correlated with high life expectancy rates.
In the same way, Goldschmidt argues that life ways of the people vary between the
upper and lower levels of them status hierarchy, but not always related to economic
circumstances.
Ej: Divergence in sexual behavior reported by the studies of Kinsey.
Also, Mantsios mention that class affects more than lifestyle and material well-being,
and it has a significant impact in physical and mental well-being as well. For example,
lower-class standing is correlated to higher rates of infant mortality, eye and ear
diseases, arthritis, nutritional deficiency, respiratory disease, mental illness and
hearth disease.
Equally, Goldschmidt affirm that all community studies have demonstrated that idea,
for example: the studies of the corporate enterprises and the Hearings of Temporary
National Emergency Committee.
Body Paragraph Two Second Topic or Second Criterion
Topic Sentence Educational attachment and opportunity to succeed are remarkable
for 2nd Main parameters of Social classes in America in accordance to Mantsios and
Point
Goldschmidt. R6, 7 P7, 8, 10.
Mantsios and Goldschmidt are similar in them thoughts about educational
attachment and opportunity to succeed as controlling parameters of
social classes in America.
Gregory says that class standing has a significant impact on educational attainment,
at the same time that educational attainment will determine the economic situation of
the individuals, and in words of Goldschmidt the importance of occupation (source of
income), family background and education or culture are operative in the spheres of
the individuals life activities; hence his social class is involved.
Ej: The figure showed in Gregorys paper of the results of 1302903 SAT ( College
board exams) takers in 1999 evidence that exist a positive correlation between class
and overall educational achievement. For instance, more education level means more
family income.
Mantsios also propose that all Americans do not have equal opportunity to succeed.
That opportunities are tightly related to education level according to Goldschmidt.
Ej: Because of the economic system of United States which is constructed on the
basis of capitalism, getting a job with a good income salary depends on the education
and the background of the individual in question. Also, the statistics showed in the
previous example, helps to understand that more education level also means better
chances of succeed.
Goldschmidt says that life orientations differ with social class. Hence, low aspiration
levels are prioritized by persons of low economic position in contrast to middle class
pattern whose aspirations are higher and his educational levels, hence his
opportunities to succeed.
Goldschmidt uses an example of a research project realized by Martha Ericson that
shows that the demands made upon children by low status parents are by far less
than those of middle class. That could be traduced in terms of aspirations.
Conclusion
Gregory Mantsios and Walter Goldschmidt share the idea that social
classes exists in America. So then, lifestyles, educational attachment and
