EXPECTATIONS FOR HYPOTHETICAL CONDUCT: As a student, we commit ourselves

to honesty. As we endeavor for excellence in presentation, integrityboth private and official

is our most asset. Honesty in our hypothetical work is dynamic, and we will not knowingly act in

ways which corrode that integrity. So, we pledge not to fraud, nor to stand cheating, nor to copy

the work of others. We pledge to segment community properties in ways that are accountable and

that comply with recognized policies of fairness. Assistance and struggle are means to high

achievement and are encouraged. Indeed, assistance is probable unless our directive is to specific

performance. We will compete usefully and professionally for motivating high performance and

standards

Lecture Notes:

What is CAM?

Complementary and Alternative Medicine is a group of therapies that are used alongside

conventional medicine, which is the most common in the United States. Some of these methods

of therapy are known and proven to be effective and others are better for some than others.

These medicines have been used for centuries and was used by conventional medicine.

Statistics:

Almost 40% of Americans today use some sort of CAM in their health plan
18.4 of American use Natural products as a part of CAM
11.7 use yoga techniques as an attempt to encourage personal wellness
use meditation to deal with stress.
9.5 rely on the use of chiropractic and osteopathic therapies
10.2 individuals seek massages.
Many individuals used CAM methods even though they dont know what they are.

Prime example is an individual who goes and visits a chiropractor or even doing yoga.
There is a lot of evidence and research that supports the therapies, other are not quite as

lucky. We will discuss that during the course. There is a lot to benefit from each method

for most individuals.

Each type of CAM therapy should be researched before you invest in it. Some clients

dont do very well in some of the alternative medicine.

The basic CAM therapy choices

Integral health
Alternative western methods
