Unit Topic/Title: Powers of the President (Part Two)

Rationale/ This is relevant because students should know the powers of the president, as well
Purpose for as the checks and balances within the federal government.
Lesson:

Learning Students will be able to analyze the requirements to be Presidents.


Outcomes: Students will be able to discuss the different domestic and foreign powers that the
President has.
Students will be able to create different products in order to demonstrate what
they have learned about the Presidency so far.
Content Standards USG-3.2: Evaluate the formal and informal structure, role, responsibilities, and
Addressed authority of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the national
government as the embodiments of constitutional principles.

Materials Chrome books, paper, Google Classroom, Smartboard and PowerPoint.

Unknown Finish Powers of the President: If the PowerPoint from the previous day was not
finished, start where we left off.
Rest of Period Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will look at the board I posted on Google Classroom.
Students need to choose three assignments that would make a line (three across,
down, or diagonal).
Homework for Tomorrow
Tic-Tac-Toe assignment if it was not finished in class.

Assessments
The Tic-Tac-Toe assignment will be used as a formative assessment in order to check for the
understanding of what has been taught about the Presidency so far.

Adaptations/Extensions
I could modify my lesson for a range of diverse learners by having students create their own
activities for the tic-tac-toe board and then letting them choose from those.
