Demonetisation Rules? Or maybe, not?

Background-
Demonetization is the act of stripping a currency unit of its status as legal tender.
Since we are the legal authority in this game, we now hereby declare currency notes to be
invalid.

Note denominations available after Demonetisation- 100, 500, 1000, 2000

Demonetized notes -
Total time of the round - 1 hour.
Bank will open for 10 mins. And then shut for 5 mins. Before re-opening. (Teams will get four
chances to get currency exchanged in the banks)

1. Currency notes of 500 and 1000 will no longer remain valid. Instead new notes of 500
and 1000 will be provided. These will be marked by the volunteers at the bank.
2. The demonetization will be permanent, i.e. even after the banks close the original
currency will remain invalid.
3. Players may or may not choose to exchange old notes. However, the old notes will not
be counted as a part of the cash in hand at the end of the game.
4. The normal production will be halted while the banks are open. Only when the banks are
closed, production can continue.
5. People may continue to trade for capital with the E Cell volunteers with the old notes,
but these notes will cease to hold any value in the end i.e. will not be counted in cash in
hand. Hence, the person who will finally be in the possession of these notes will have to
face a loss (unless he can get them exchanged)
6. Following are the ways to get your money changed.
a. The Bank
- There will be an official bank formed by volunteers to exchange the currency
notes.
- Since we are sensitive to our population needs, only one member of each team
can stand in the queue at a time.
- There is a withdrawal limit of Rs. 2000. After that, you will have to join the queue
again.
- People standing in the queue cannot leave their position, i.e. no one else of the
same team can take their place. If you are caught doing this, your team will be
debarred from getting anything exchanged from the bank
- The bank will remain open for 10 mins. at a time and then shut down for five
minutes irrespective of whether the people standing in the line have gotten their
notes exchanged. Team members can form a line while the bank is closed.
- Since we do not make our employees work overtime, the round will only be of 1
hour.
b. Black Market -
- In the black market the currency will be traded initially for 2 times the amount.
After Rs. 8000 have been exchanged, the price will increase to 4 times and so
on. E.g. After Rs. 8000 have been exchanged in total, the price of money will be
doubled. Eg, before 8000, a firm will get Rs. 50 for Rs.100 . After 8000 has been
exchanged, the firm will get only Rs. 25 for Rs. 100.
- Just like the bank, there will be a queue in the black market also, wherein only
one member of the team can stand at a time.
- There will not be any restriction on the number of notes or the amount of
currency that the teams want to get exchanged from the black market.
- Black market will remain open throughout the fourth round.

Las Vegas is always an option.

Betting: Claims will be announced. Teams can choose to bet any amount of money
over and above a base price (or not bet at all). If they bet and their claim comes true,
their money will be doubled. Otherwise, they lose their money. Ex: Which team will
win the first crisis round?

Casino: Firms will have to pay a certain amount to participate in the casino. After
that, the team CEO will decide which member of his team will take up the bet. This
particular department member will be challenged with a fun task. After the member
has been chose, no changes can be made.
If they are successful in completing the task, the money invested will double,
otherwise it will be lost. Any particular team can use the casino only once in every
round and only twice throughout the game.

Note: These will go on during the entire length of the game, as soon as the teams
are formed. These are not separate rounds. If the teams dont want to participate in
these, they can choose to abstain.
