Math
We have already entered the 4th quarter
of this school year! We will be finishing up
our grade level content with a study of
measurement. Topics include weight (g/kg),
liquid measurement (L/mL), elapsed time
and graphing. We will also be spending
time preparing students for the EOG math
test by reviewing content from the entire
school year.
Don't forget that we are still taking timed
tests twice per week. Some students have
already passed all but three of their tables!
Keep studying! Fact fluency is an important
step in preparing for 4th grade! Students
who master all facts will be rewarded with
an ice cream sundae party in May.
April 5- Around the World presentations in
gym from 1:30-2:30
Literacy
We are going to begin the month with
a study of poetry (reading to
understand/interpret and some writing).
We will be focusing our efforts during this
quarter on fine-tuning some literacy skills.
We will focus on cause and effect
relationships, main idea and supporting
details, and using context clues to
determine vocabulary meaning.
Third graders are required to have
enough reading stamina to last through the
large amount of text on the EOG tests.
Please continue good nightly reading
habits with a variety of text types.

Social Studies/Science
We are so pleased with the quality of projects produced by our third graders! Our trip
"Around the World" is coming up on April 5th. Please plan to attend if possible to support
your child as he/she shares what was learned.
In Science we will be studying matter. We will be visiting the Science Center on April 4th
for a fun program about matter to help kick off our unit!
