Guidelines for the homework about continents

The homework has two parts:

In the first one, you will have to download a physical map of the continent
assigned to each group. Then you have to open it with the Windows
application Paint or similar and identify the geographic features detailed
below by means of a mark (point, line, circle...) of your own choice. When
you have finished this task, youll have to save the map in order to use it in
the next part.

In the second, you will include the map in a presentation elaborated with
the application Power Point or a similar one. In addition to the map, you will
have to include some images you consider suitable for illustration purposes,
as well as a description that includes the data shown below, organized and
presented the way you think most suitable.

Of the rivers: Length, crossed countries, location of the mouth, sea or


ocean.

Of the plains, valleys, depressions and plateaus: Extension, height,


covered countries.

Of the mountain ranges: Extension, highest peaks, direction (North-


South, Northeast-Southwest, etc.)

Of the lakes: Extension, origin (glacial, tectonic, etc.), coastal countries.

North America (group 3, Luiza and Jessica): Death Valley, Rocky


Mountains, Great Prairies, Mississippi, Great Lakes, Appalachians, Saint
Lawrence river.

South Amrica (group 1, Pablo and Fernando): Andes, Atacama Desert,


Amazon, Mato Grosso Plateau, Orinoco, Mexican Plateau, Gran Chaco.

Europe (group 6, Diego and Adri): Volga, North European Plain,


Carpathian Mountains, Danube, Alps, Pyrenees, Rhin.

Asia (group 2, Gabriel and Abigail: Tian Shan Mountains, Tarim Basin, Gobi
Desert, Tibetan Plateau, Himalayas, Ganges, Yangtz

Africa (group 4, Alba and Eva): Atlas Mountains, Nger River, Nile, Sahara,
Rift Valley, Congo Basin, Drakensberg Mountains
Oceania (group 5, Lucia, Ivn): Great Victoria Desert, Great Barrier Reef,
Great Artesian Basin, Great Dividing Range, Southern Alps
