Modern Day Genocide Project

The Holocaust is not the only genocide to happen in history.

Unfortunately, there are genocides that took place even after the Holocaust,
and some are still taking place today. In this project, you will research
modern genocides and present your findings to the class in a formal
presentation. You may choose to work with a partner and complete this
assignment together. Be cautious in choosing to partner with a classmate
you will share the same grade. In other words, your grade will reflect any
point deductions caused by your partner (i.e. poorly delivered oral
presentation, lack of effort in meeting criteria, a jump drive forgotten at
home.) This project will count as 2 test grades. There will also be multiple
daily grades accumulated in the weeks leading up to the presentation. We
will use computers during class time for research on April 5th, 6th, 12th, and
17th. Any part of your presentation that is not completed during class time
will be homework. We will begin presenting on Wednesday, April 18th.

The following topics are your research choices. In order to educate each
other as much as possible, only two students from each class will be able to
research each one. They may work as a pair or independently. If they work
as a pair, they will share a grade. If they work independently, their projects
should be entirely different (i.e. different images, different statements,
different research sources.) We will use a random name generator to
decide who chooses first, so be prepared with two back up choices!
