Journal- Sukan Tara

Do you participate in sport? I am sure all of you do because as a student all of us

must be involved in sports as a part of curriculum activities. Sukan Tara is a
good example. This type of sport gives students a chance to try every event in
sports such as racing, shot put, long jump and high jump. Every student will
contribute marks to their teams when they pass the event even though they are
not a professional player but if they can pass the event they will gain marks to
their teams. To me, high jump is a traumatic experience out of the other events.
Every time I run towards the pole I will break myself and push the pole forward.
Whenever it comes to high jump I will admit defeat and give up because I scare
to jump over the pole although it is only short for me. The training day came, I
could not move any step and I felt butterflies in my stomach when it was my turn
to jump so I just pushed the pole forward as usual habit. Therefore, my teams
teacher asked me to redo but I cant because when I saw the pole I will nervous
and I dare not to jump over it. Thus, my teams teacher gave some supports and
strength to me and told me that I must do my best for the coming Sukan Tara. I
did not want to disappoint my teacher hope to me so I asked my brother who
was very professional in this event to teach me. First, we took the big rubbish bin
with the height 36cm, a pail and a pole. Secondly, we arranged the big rubbish
and the pole were put onto it before the pail was added. Then, I learned from a
short height for 20 times before I proceeded to a higher height. My brother
taught me the technique to jump over the pole; he showed me how the process
was going on. After that, we continued to a higher height and added a pail. This
time my traumatic time came I could hardly move a step to jump over the pole.
So, I had tried for 25 times and finally my efforts were paid off and I successfully
jumped over it.

The day had come; I was shocked when En.Khairul announced my team to start
from high jump event. I gathered all my courage and jumped over the pole when
it was my turn. I was in the cloud of nine because I had finally jumped over the
pole.

To sum up, I had contributed 3 marks for my team. In my point of view, we

must not give up easily and let the failure beat us. Always keep in mind that
difficult doesnt mean impossible. It simply means that you have to work hard.
