Created engaging and explicit lessons based on 5th grade curriculum and standards to instruct 20 children in a
Title I, transient school including 8 students with IEPs (SLD, OHI, ADHD), 3 students with 504 plans (diabetes,
asthma, Autism, speech disorders) and one student identified as gifted.
Used whole brain teaching, cooperative learning, Jan Richardson Guided Reading lessons, CRA math lessons,
stations across all subject areas and use of technology to increase engagement and interest in activities and
prepare with 21st century, collaborative skills.
Co-planned and taught with Special Education teacher, instructional assistants and interventionists.
Tracked and showed student progress through MAPS, benchmarks, formative assessments and goal tracking.
Used mindfulness teaching, goal tracking, responsive classroom lessons and character development programs.

Provided direct instruction for 20 students over the course of the summer academic program.
Students ranged from 6th grade to rising 12th grade and each required direct instruction to show progress
towards IEP goals. Heavy focus on reading and math. Modeled lessons off of programs students were used to
such as Wilson Reading, Read 180 and Language! Showed progress through data updates at the end of ESY.
