Reflection on portfolio

As unit planning is very important and it helps us to go on the right track as we plan our lesson.

Unit planning helps people to be organized which I think is very important because most of the

people fail on organization so it is one of the most important. As in the process of learning how

to make a good unit plan what I realized is that unit planning encourages us to be more

thoughtful and reflective while planning. I also think that this helps students to see importance of

topic and adds motivation. As talking about the areas of growth previously I used to have

problems on my organization but now it has given me a chance to explore new ideas and

patterns. The unit plan and lesson plan has helped me to keep the track of both students and

teachers what the students will be able to know and what can they do in a specific period of time.

My strength of the unit plan was in the objectives because as we know that objective plays an

important role. And another was in the part of biblical integration as I think I did it quite well on

that when I was in the practicum last month. My cooperating teacher really like the way I

included biblical integration in my lesson because she told me that she usually dont have those

things. And I think my weakness is on the part of guiding question because I just have difficult

time with that part. As I can say this because when I was in the practicum last time some of my

guiding question was not so effective which I later found out.

Basically when I was in the practicum last month lesson plan has helped me in number of ways

too it has helped me to grow personally. It has helped me to be organized and meet the goals of

the students also it helped me to go where I am going. And it developed my self -confidence

more. Most importantly it stimulates me to think in an organized manner.

As I have learned a lot of things I can work on the weakness parts that I have in order to have a

good lesson and unit plan. As personally I need to understand that we are all in a growing

process so we need to learn from the mistakes. I need to think more and work on the part of

guiding question part. And for that I need to reflect on the past like what was wrong with my

guiding question and I need to study the facts. Additionally I need to focus on the important ideas

to have a good guiding question. For guiding question I need to remember the course goals. I

need to determine the theme or a concept that I want students to explore. As everyone has their

own strengths and weaknesses, we need to work on our weakness part and make it our strength.
