Benerson Notes: The basic flag combination is of red ensign with a cross in the canton; a cross of St. George or
possibly an English jack at the masthead; and an English Flag (Union Jack) at the jackstaff. A cross of St. George can
be flown as an ensign. A lawfully commissioned vessel might fly a commission pendant, although often they werent
supposed to. A ship of the royal navy would fly a commission pendant.

Masthead Jack
Commission Pendant
Benerson Notes: The French ensign, mainmast head flag, and jack were all be plain white. The gold fleurs de lys are
optional for the ensign, but I doubt any flibustiers ever actually used this flag, or even most any man of war. Plain white
is sufficient for ensign, masthead, pendant, and jack.
