Skim Questions
Skim the questions (not answers)
before you read a story so you can
search for the answers as you read.
Read & Re-read
Read and re-read the question and
ALL answer choices carefully before
choosing your answer.
Look Back
Always LOOK BACK to find the
answers in the text. Mark where you
find the answer. Prove that you
choosing the best answer choice!

Cross out at least 2 answer choices
that you know could not possibly be
the correct answer. Only focus on

to find the best answer.

Circle, underline, or box key words in
the questions. These are important
words that will help you find the
