Long ago, there were two brothers called Akomi and Ombah. They were ambitious and
winning. Akomi, the elder brother, said, "If we become the King's employees, we can
make laws to collect more money from the people. We will become very rich."
They went to see King Aruya. Akomi said, "Your Majesty, let us be your ministers. We will
make good laws. All your subjects will be happy. I am wise and clever. I know
everything."
King Aruya said angrily, "That is not true! Nobody knows everything. For example, do you
know how many stars there are in the sky? Guards! Throw this liar into the river of
crocodiles!"
Ombah's hands trembled. Then he thought to himself, "King Aruya will also punish me if I
say the wrong thing. My brother said he knew everything and his answer was wrong. So
if I say the opposite, my answer will be right." Ombah then said, to King Aruya, "Your
majesty, I know nothing."
King Aruya said, "That is also a lie. Nobody knows nothing, truly! Everybody knows at least
something. For example, you know your father's name, don't you? Guards! Throw him
into the river of crocodiles, too!"
It was Sunday morning December 26th 2004. The day that I would never forget forever.
Wewent to the beach in Meulaboh, Aceh. Many people were there when I arrived.
When we were enjoying the beautiful sunrise, suddenly we were shocked by a violent
shake in the ground. Everybody in the beach was panic. We soon realized that it was a very
big earthquake although it struck in a very short period of time.
After that, we saw the water going on into the middle of the sea. No wonder if there
were many kinds of fish left behind on the sand. We all seemed to be astonished by the view
until we realized that there was a huge wave coming towards us and destroying everything in
its way.I didnt realize what had happened until I found myself hanging on a branch of a tree.
Dear Nan,
We are having a great a holiday here on the Gold Coast. Yesterday we went to the Movie
World.
When we got up in the morning, it looked like rain. After a while the cloud disappeared. And
it became a sunny day. We then decided to go to the Movie World.
The first ride I went on was Lethal Weapon. Next I saw the Police Academy show. After that I
had lunch as I was really hungry. Meanwhile, Mum and Kelly queued for the Batman
ride.
About one oclock we got a light shower of rain but it cleared up soon after. We then went on
all the other rides.
It was a top day. See you when you get back.
Venice
Venice is a city in northern Italy. It has been known as the Queen of the
Adriatic, City
of Bridges, and The City of Light. The city stretches across 117 small islands in the
marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy.
Venice is world famous for its canals. It is built on an archipelago of 117
Island s formed by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. The islands on which the city is
built are connected by about 400 bridges. In the old centre, the canals serve the function

You can ride gondola there. It is the classical Venetian boat which nowadays
is mostly used for tourists, or weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies. Now, most
Venetians travel by motorised waterbuses which ply regular routes along the major
